problem #1

Oct 062007

Town & Country 6-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 75,000 miles
The vehicle started making a loud banging noise at idle when the ac was on. Numerous ongoing problems with ac since vehicle was new. Assumed the ac compressor was bad again, and did not use ac. Problem turned out to be a cracked drive plate (torque plate, flywheel). Vehicle became inoperative. Local Chrysler dealer stated known problem, recently fixed three with identical problem. $125 part plus labor to remove transaxle and replace drive plate.
