The contact owns a 2002 Chrysler Town and country. The contact stated that she has experienced several failures with the ignition key shaft. While attempting to start the vehicle, she could insert the key into the ignition, but it remained locked. This failure has occurred several times to the point that it could take up to 15 minutes to get the key to turn. The contact would bang on the key and pull the steering wheel back and forth to get the key to turn in the ignition. The failure has progressively worsened. The failure mileage was 60,000 and current mileage was 63,000.update 09/10/08 updated 09/10/8.

Engine bogged down and check engine light flashed. 5 star dealer replated ignition coil plugs and wires to the tune of $600. On the way home, similar rough running, flashing engine light, back firing, now dealer says it is computer short. Other problems with transmission and fuel system took at least three trips to service and many charges to get fixed. The chrystler 7/70 warranty is not worth much to this dissatisfied customer.

The ignition fuse blew out which caused the vehicle to stall. This occurred while driving and at a complete stop. This results in loss of power steering. Dealership changed ignition fuse 23 to 10 amp. The failure recurred 2 week later. Dealership service invoice read that transmission at pin area and around solenoid pack failed. The harness rubbed, chafed, and was damaged. Repaired harness isolated from transmission with rubber. However, failure recurred.
