This is the 2nd time the rear evaporator core has had a major or large leak in it.

Granted it does have high mileage, but that is no reason for this to occur twice.

Contacted the Chrlysler Company, and they did get back to me the next day.

I had to bring it to the dealership where I bought it and paid $100 for them to tell me what I already concluded, the evaporator core had a huge hole in it along with a hole in the A/C condenser.

According to them, I had it repaired in th summer of 2008 and because of the high mileage they won't help me. I really thought there was a recall or a reported possible problem with the A/C. I remember getting a letter from Chrysler about a problem with the A/C but I can't find it. Anyway, I already had the A/C fixed the first time before I got this letter.

At the least, Chrysler should pay for either the parts or labor.

Have owned vehicle less than 3 months. Purchased from Chrysler dealer w/o warranty. Noticed an oil droplet on garage floor at rt rear wheel area within a few days of purchase. A/C system was putting out cold air at that time. After about a month the A/C system began losing ability to put out cold air. The rear evaporator is junk. The vehicle is at the local Chrysler shop at this writing. I was told by another Chrysler dealer that Chrysler had a recall for this problem on 2006/2007 models but my VIN was not in this recall. Wondering if anyone has been able to obtain any assistance from Chrysler for this very expensive repair?

My wife and I were driving around on a warm, late summer day house shopping, with the air conditioning running, when all of a sudden there was a faint gurgling noise and the air coming from the vents slowly began warming up to the air temperature outside. Later we found there was a recall, for the compressor I believe, that they'd fix it in certain conditions if the car was under 60,000 miles. However, since it had been late summer we waited until spring to worry about it, and by the time the recall came out we were passed the 60k mark. This was about the 10th thing that went wrong with this car, which you'll see from other posts. We had a family friend use AC system sealant and recharge it. That seemed to fix it. Can't tell if it worked long term or not,as we traded it in 4 days later. Done with this piece of crap.

I Have two 2006 Minivans one a Chrysler T&C and another Dodge Caravan. Both A/C went out on. Both of them have bad rear evaprator coils. The T&C cost over $1300 to repair. The Caravan I am not having repaired. In August there was over 6000 of the evrapator coils on back order. I believe that a recall is in the works according to Topix Forum Alerts. It looks as if they will replace it if your van has less than 70,000 miles on it. I will wait and see.
