In the last two months I have been unable to start my vehicle on five different mornings. This problem seemed to start after my blind spot indicators stopped working.

I took it in to the dealer and was told that, with the vehicle off, there is a 2.5 amp draw from the battery. On a second visit this draw was apparently traced to the faulty BLIS module. Researching on this site and others, this particular problem is very common (possibly number two on list)

This is a $40k vehicle sold with a load of safety features which to my mind was topped by the blind spot indicators. The fix for one module is over $1,000 including troubleshooting of 2 hours. Chrysler will not do anything for me since, as I was told, my mileage is too high (80k at time of problem, 97k km now).

I'll agree that I do drive more than the average person but when I pointed out that I was told the problem was due to corrosion and that corrosion was a function of time not mileage, I was told that you collect more salt by driving more distance. I then pointed out that Arizona and Florida do not use salt on their roads and I have spent several months there each winter (2 since I bought the vehicle) so in actual fact less than a third of my mileage was in Ontario winter.

The dealer admitted that the vehicle does look brand new, yet would do nothing to back the product. Looking back at strange goings on with my van since I bought it 2.25 years ago, I would have to tell anyone thinking of buying a Chrysler product, to run far far away.

Chrysler Dealers seem not to be able to locate battery drain or repair same. They only want to recharge battery and let it go at that. However the battery will continue to drain and be without power in two days, leaving auto unable to start. Makes things somewhat harder for this old disabled Vietnam Vet. I guess one must get along with two disabled things, Me and my Town & Country..
