Cannot tell the real source of the problem. Engine turned over but would not start. Thought the problem was contaminated fuel. Replaced filter. Examined old filter which had 180K. Filter appeared to be aged as expected. Checked the electrical under the hood. Ensured connections. Engine started without of any problems. Now a year later, the engine is now cutting out again. Parked the car and came back 30 minutes later. The engine did not start. No problem turning over but it would not fire up. Suspected electrical issue with coil as we did not get a spark when the wire to the distributor was put near metal. Reconnected the coil to the distributor. Did not expect the engine to start, but it started as if there was not a problem. Issue is unresolved.
