I replaced my TIPM about 6 months ago when I was having flashing and beeping dashboard lights and no fog lights. I went to a junk yard and grabbed a cheap $20 TIPM to replace it... now 6 months later... I have flashing dashboard lights and sounds, no fog lights, NO ACTUAL HEADLIGHTS, No HORN, no turn signals, and the biggest issue.... NO A/C. I live in Florida... no A/C is a big issue... But I’m afraid to even drive it... So Many people complaining about it dying while driving... I reported it to the NHTSA... I think everyone needs too... already 150+ complaints and nothing has happened...

this car is a piece of crap. the alternator declutch pulley is shot, I've replaced the front control arms twice now, and now the totally integrated power module is shot, which made the car stall, and now there are no headlights, no wipers in the front or back, no signal lights, no power locks, and I've read many posts saying the airbags will either not deploy when needed, or will deploy at a random time, wow, how the hell can Chrysler get away with this not being a recall issue!!!!! people can and will die from this. but my local dealership service manager said to me "the tipm is a wearable part, just like brakes and ball joints, so no recall, but the good news is the part is only $1186. I hung up on him I was so mad. I also own a dodge ram diesel and we all know how horrible their auto trannys are, guess what- mine is shot and needs a rebuild- to the tune of around $5000.. obviously I am never buying another dodge for the rest of my life. screw you dodge!!!!

Besides the suspension being garbage on this POS thing Dodge calls a car,the TIPM is the worst part of the Dodge Caliber. I have a 2007 SXT with 126k miles. At first the fog lights stopped working, then the high beams and one daytime running light, then the rear wiper, then the brake lights--so i couldnt shoft out of park since the car wasnt recognizing me pushing the brake pedal down,so i had to use the emergency switch in the hole on the right side of the counsel--then the front wipers went out in a HORRIBLE rain storm, while on the freeway,on my way home from our cabin 3hrs away..what a mess that made. Since i dont have $1,200 for a new TIPM (even if i did i wouldnt pay for what these bastards know is faulty in these vehicles),i rigged it up by splicing the wires and bypassing the TIPM..thats only temporary though. Its absolutely ridiculous that thousands,if not millions,of people put complaints in about the TIPM in their vehicle from 2005-2012,Dodge KNOWS THIS IS FAULTY,yet the recalls and class-action lawsuits keep getting denied. If this car didnt have such a sh*tty resale value, and if everyone didnt know its a POS,i'd dump this car off in a heartbeat. Ive gotten into 1 accident and avoided another because of the issues this car has. So many issues with it,and they all come at once. Somebody is going to end up getting killed by one of these issues and then MAYBE they will do a recall...but for that unfortunate person,it will be too late.

F*ck You Dodge...you FAIL!

While driving down the road, all of my lights and notifications start flashing. I have had my car in the garage since May and no one can figure out the problem. Just got it back (500.00) later and it did it 40 time in a 2 mile period.

We got this car used 2 years ago and having an issue that is THIS expensive is ridiculous. We have an appointment with a mechanic for Saturday to update the computer system (like the bulletin said to do) but I'm really worried this will be the TIPM because our issues are similar to issues I've read online. We were driving the car and all of a sudden, upon acceleration, it started stuttering or hesitating. It also started dying when idling at a stop light. We have kept it parked after calling the mechanic and luckily can walk to work but reading that this is a $1000+ fix is scaring the crap out of me. How has this not been recalled?? This is ridiculous!! We had this stuttering/hesitation issue since about a month after buying this car but it was when we would fill up the gas tank to full. Now it's doing it all of the time. I really hope the update fixes this because $150 is much better than $1000.

I gave the Dodge Caliber to my daughter as a gift and the right side of the vehicle (front headlight/signal light) stopped working. Put it in the shop and had a diagnostic test run on it and they said I need a new tipm box.

My TIPM went out on my car. It's been out for three months now and Dodge has not sent the part for my car yet. They originally sent me the wrong part and then I was told that I would receive the correct part in a week. Well, it's been three full months now and still no part. Every call to Dodge is saying that the part is on back order. No recall on this part at all. I have NO vehicle to get around in and I'm lost as to what I should do now. If there's a class action lawsuit, I would love to receive information regarding it. This is an absolute nightmare.

This has happened 3 times now! I'm driving, almost at a complete stop, and I lose all power. This has happened 2 times at night, second time in a downpour, and the hazard lights won't even work, which means I have to get out of the car in the middle of the road (holy dangerous!) To alert drivers so they don't hit me! The first "fix" was a computer system re-flash ($350). The second "fix" about a month later was to replace the transmission control unit ($600). 3 days after getting my car back, I'd driven no more than 100 feet from my parking spot, turned the dial to turn up the music, and it died again! My husband tried to jump start it but it wouldn't stay running for more than a few minutes, which means I'll have to get it towed to the mechanic.

I've done a ton of research online and Dodge is well aware of this problem.... in fact, the research all suggests that the problem is from the TIPM which Dodge placed in a spot where it constantly receives damage from water and dirt on the road. It's a faulty placement! There have been no recalls for this, and the replacement for the TIPM is over $1500!!!! I've called Dodge to ask for financial reimbursement or help of any kind and mentioned that the company is aware of this problem and THEY WON'T DO A DAMN THING!!!! I know there are others out there with the same problem so I beg of you, contact me, contact others, contact Dodge and let's get this problem onto a recall list! I'm tempted to get a lawyer involved, so if you're interested, please help! With enough contact to Dodge and enough pressure and annoyance, we can get the solution we need!

My Dodge Caliber recently began having electrical issues. First the signal lights began turning on the interior overhead light. Then the fog lights stoped working. In a matter of a few days things went from bad to worse. Now I can't drive the vehicle because the fog lights, signal lights, high beams, and wipers no longer work. Can you imagine driving into work and after a long day at work you run to your vehicle due to the rain, only to find out you can't go home because your wipers aren't working.

I know there was a class action lawsuit against Chrysler for other models due to TIPM issues but I have found many forums where the 2007 Dodge Caliber has had the same issues. Someone please help as I can't afford to pay $800 - $1200 to have this manufacturer's issue fixed. The consumer shouldn't have to pay for a known manufacture's flaw.

I had my left headlight out which was no problem so i replaced it... but it still didnt work. ok so i thought well maybe its a fuse... except dodge doesnt have a fuse for your lights. so i looked up the problem on the internet and found out the lights are all run off of a TIPM computer. some people were saying that it just needs to be reset. so i take it to pepboys to have it reset. they dont have the proper equipment to reset it and say i have to take it to dodge. i take it to dodge and they tell me the whole computer needs to be replaced and it will cost 1000 dollars. FOR A HEADLIGHT! thats ridiculous! i am having other issues with the car as well so now i am looking for another vehicle
