Charger 5.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 114,000 miles

When the car is AWD and shifting gears not always it is making this loud noise. It only happens in AWD which is below 40 or with wipers on. It usually happens as I am slowing the car down or downshifting. It is sometimes hardly noticeable and then it is really loud. I was going up the ramp in garage at work and it did it 3 times in a row, When the car kicks in AWD I try to have it switch back by putting it neutral or turning off wipers. I have taken it in dealer and auto repair shop and they didn't hear it. It is getting to the point where I want to trade it in rather than try to get mechanic to find problem then solution

Charger RT 5.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 14,500 miles

Hearing a loud rubbing /slipping sound, accompanied by vibration. This happens when acceleration under normal driving conditions or going up a slight incline. This started at around 14,500 miles. I am having trouble getting the Dealership (Medina Auto mall in Medina, Ohio) to admit it is an issue and fixing it. They are trying to pass it off as the Eco system and say I am not driving the car aggressively enough. (Really? I have to drive like a maniac for this car to perform normally after 14.500 miles. Why did the car not make this sound prior to 14,500 miles if there is no issue?) Needless to say, the problem is getting progressively worst. I guess they will admit there is an issue when I have to have it flat bedded to the dealership.

I had to actually contact Dodge Corporate to find a different dealership in the area that would even look at it. (Thirty some miles away). I could have taken it to the dealership where I purchased the car but, do not feel that I can trust their work at this time. This issue has still not been resolved. The car goes into the new dealership on November 22nd.( over a two week wait ) So I am still yet, to see if they will fix it. I Love the car but, if they are not going to stand behind their warranty on their vehicles, I will not be buying another Dodge. They boast a 75,000 mile warranty on the motor and drivetrain. So why with that, plus the extended warranty I purchased on the vehicle, am I having issues getting the vehicle fixed?
