Charger Scat Pack 6.4L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 1,000 miles

This is a brand new Scat RT Charger. I spent $60,000 on this beautiful car, and now there's a problem that MOPAR is trying to say is standard operating procedure. I noticed the first time I had to start my car up when it was cold. That the car was blowing lava out of the driver side, and ice cold air out of the passenger side. I wasn't really sure what was going on, so I took it to the dealership. They said something about resetting the computer and that they fixed the problem.

Next day I started my car again, same problem. I went in and told them "The problem is still there, it wasn't fixed." So they said ok, and said it was the actuator, and that they would have to take my dash out and replace it.

I received my charger back, and immediately the problem returned, and I went back in and told them. "Hey the problem is still here. The computer says it's at 75 degrees, and it's blowing ice cold air!!! They said "Ok, we're going to call Chrysler and find out what the problem is." Well I just got a call from the dealership. Chrysler is telling them it's standard normal operation.

This does not happen during every start, it's 2/3 of the starts, and it's remote and manual starts. The computer screen is set to 75 degrees on both sides, and we've messed with the computer took it off auto, reset the computer moved the nobs up and down.

The only way to fix the problem is to turn the dial all the way down to LO, then back up to HIGH. This makes the passenger side blow hot air. Now to me THAT IS NOT standard operation. I paid $60,000 with a life-time MOPAR warranty. This is how they treat me? I'm mad, and I feel if this isn't fixed soon it's going to have to talk to someone about taking legal action. Absolutely ridiculous.

Like I told the guys at the dealership, I'm not mad at them. They did what they were trained to do. I'm mad at Chrysler who's saying there's nothing wrong with the car when there blatantly is. They need to own up to it and fix it, as required for the warranty I purchased.

Update from Feb 22, 2017: Year and half later, problem persists. MOPAR and FCA do not have a fix for this problem. I went through arbitration and FCA's comment was "The car gets you from point A to point B right?" That is not the answer, and currently looking for a class action, or personal suit.
