WHEN I AM DRIVING ALONG AT 40 MILES AN HR IT APPEARS THE TRANNY IS SLIPPING. THE TACHOMETER MOVES UP AND DOWN WHILE I AM TRAVELING AT SAME SPEED BUT WHEN I STOMP ON THE GAS IT HOOKS UP NO PROBLEM. THERE ARE NO LEAKS AND THE FLUID IS NOT DIRTY. COULD IT BE A DIRTY FILTER?

Once my Dodge started creeping up on the 60,000 mile mark I started having a few problems pop up. One being the transmission. I've gotten a couple different opinions as to the problem. One is that there might be a bad sensor. Another is a "possable worn part" that won't be Identified untill she's opened up and checked. Either way it's going to cost some. Sometimes when the truck is started and shifted into Drive it won't go into drive all the way. And once you "feel it" slip in and take off there seems to be little power going to the powertrain with the gas pedal all the way down. Same thing with going into reverse. And I've lost count of how many times I've come to a stop and it either stalls out or starts reving up like it's still in first and then just dies. All problems have been sloved with a full shut down and restart of the system. Hopefully it'll hang in there until I have enough saved up to have it taken care of.

I had the transmission rebuilt exactly 7,400 miles ago. New torque converter box and solenoid shift pack assembly. I was sitting in the drive through with my foot on the brake and the truck in drive. When my order was ready and I attempted to drive forward my vehicle wouldn't go anywhere. I shifted into Park and back into drive and it still wouldn't go. I turned it off started it back up and accelerated to no power eventually getting moved and down to my home. Next day I started it up and drove about 1/2 mile to a very slippery trans that was " All over the place" Not catching anywhere. Had it towed and its the torque converter box again... VERY AGGRAVATED AS I SEE NO COMPLAINTS CONCERNING THIS but my mechanic says that it is common on the Dodge trucks. Its not costing me to fix as this is covered under the first repair warranty but still a pain. I don't abuse my truck in any way or tow anything so not sure what is up. I do drive about 120 miles a day during the week on the highway but I do not to alot of start and stop in rush hour traffic. I wonder if heat is a problem?????

The check engine light came on and the transmission was slipping between 45 and 55mph and the engine was revving up between 2 and 3 while trying to drive 65 mph. I could stop and place the vehicle in park, turn it off and restart and then put back in drive and drive without any problems for sometimes days at a time before it messed up again.

I had to have the transmission rebuilt and the solenoid shift pack assembly, and the torque converter replaced. My mechanic said that it was an issue with the Dodge trucks that he had personally seen but I didn't see it mentioned here or anywhere else as a common problem. My mechanic said the converter boxes were weak.

The truck just went out of warranty and the transmission fails! In my opinion, buy something that has a very good warranty and something that won't go out 5000 miles after the warranty is out! My husband and I kept up regular service on this truck, every 3000 miles it got an oil change. All maintenance was kept up and the tranny still went out on us! We've also had a problem with the truck cutting off on us going down the road a few times. We recently replaced the radiator fan. We are always replacing tires and brakes at least once every year for tires.

Body Control Module controls many things. One is the speedometer which in turn

caused my truck to constantly change gears because the speedometer was flopping.

If not fixed soon, it will also tear up another part which I am told will cost over

$2,000.

My truck is out of warranty, yet it has less than 25,000 miles on it....really stinks!

i am so mad that i went the dealership and they said they fixed the problem. i had to pay 208. extra because the warranty did not cover the other stuff needed. not even 20 mile later the same problem occured. i am not happy at all
