Dakota 4x4 V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 25,000 miles

My transmission burnt out in a customers driveway. Al Smith Bowling green ( john from service) had the truck one week before, i brought it in to get the warrantee 5 yr inspection , he found a bad seal and replaced it , brought the truck in one week later with a blown transmission. The dealership didn't put in the right codes for the seal that they installed so it voided my lifetime warrantee. For 2 weeks with out a vehicle and they wouldn't give me a free rental till the last 2 days.I had to contact some guys higher up to get to the root of the problem then when it was repaired i asked John from AL SMITHS what had happened , he never owned up to screwing up my paperwork he just said i don't know. Then 4 months later my transmission gets stuck in 4 wh low. took it back to john $800 he tells me for a actuator for the 4x4.Its a electronic part that isnt covered by warrantee.

I have a Chevy 2500 1988 that ive had for 15 years and just now had to put money into the transmission. was not happy with the service i received at the dealership and pissed about the truck, also had to change both front tie rods and several other things. I should get a partial refund because i reported the trans problem several times to the dealership VERY MAD ABOUT THE QUALITY OF WORK AND THE SERVICE IVE RECEIVED

Update from Feb 13, 2013: transmission burnt out in a customers driveway.Al Smiths keyed in something wrong with the last repair and deleted my life time warrantee, had to go threw some higher ups in the company to get it straighten out, they never admitted what had happened. then 5 months later the actuator goes out for the 4x4 basically my truck was stuck in 4 wheel low then i was told it was not under warrantee and it would be 800 dollars , now today i get a call back and it is under warrantee, im just pissed that a truck 5 yrs old is having this much problem, already had to change out the tie rods , breaks and some other stuff.
