2013 Dodge Dart. Consumer writes in regards to power brake booster contamination recall. The consumer stated the dealer was unable to remedy the defect. The consumer stated the brake did not work efficiently and the motor seemed to not function properly when accelerating. Over time, the motor issue has worsened, with a lot of shaking and noises, along with some acceleration issues.

The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Dart. The contact smelled a strong odor of fuel and engine oil. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The contact was informed that the vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 15V800000 (service brakes, hydraulic). The contact did not receive notification of the recall. The vehicle was to be scheduled for an appointment, but the parts were not available to receive the repair. The manufacturer was unable to determine when the parts would be supplied to the dealer. I kept smelling exhaust fumes inside of the cabin of vehicle. I noticed them mostly after coming to a stop and then accelerating. I took it to the dealership and they told me it was just new car burn off. The final straw was sometime I believe in April on rainy day. The fumes were so bad they were burning my eyes and making me sick. Took it to a friend and they said get to shop immediately. Dealer did not know what to do. There was a gentleman there and he showed them a Dart forum stating the issue was a clamp not welded properly. They then found the leak and fixed it.

For the past year and a half my clutch has been losing all resistance. This usually happens when the vehicle is cold and at times I am unable to put my car into gear. Sometimes this has happened while at stop lights or even pulling out into traffic. Every time I take my vehicle to the dealership aim told there is nothing wrong. Eventually they replaced my clutch master cylinder about 8 months ago the first time. Problem seemed to resolve then about 2 months ago it started doing it again. Went back to the dealership and told nothing was wrong. After multiple trips to dealership they finally agreed to replace master cylinder and discovered the slave cylinder is leaking. Vehicle back in the shop for the past week replacing slave cylinder. Any perspective Dart buyers out there, I really caution against this purchase. This is only one of multiple issues I have had. On a side note, I purchased this vehicle new in July 2012 with 120 miles on it. Since then I have had 2 ignition coils replaced, 2 clutch master cylinders, slave cylinder, 3 turbos, catalytic converter all replaced. Buyer beware.
