Durango SLT 5.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 168,000 miles

I have had problems with the A/C blowing hot air in the summer and cold air for the heater IN THE WINTER. I took it to Dodge dealership in 2011 where they changed the evaporator, a/c lines, entire vent housing($1600.00) and heater core but yet blows continues cold air (in winter) & hot air in (summer). Cannot get it to work like when first purchased in 2002 with 62k miles. It now has 278,700 miles and I'm at my wits end. Someone please help!!!

  • Automatic transmission

This is the second problem I have had with the A/C /heater. I had to replace the heater core before. Now 3 years later it doesn't work. Plus there was a leak when you turned on the A/C or heater; you could smell antifreeze. They did dye testing but could never find a leak. Pretty upsetting!!! All that trouble and headache and the problem still hasn't been resolved.

Durango SLT 5.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 167,000 miles

I've had the following replaced: evap coil, H-valve, control head. Also, I had the a/c & heating system flushed with a power washer. I've bypassed the engine cooling system from the dash to keep heat away from the dash (this helped more than anything). However, my ac still is unpredictable. Sometimes it works for a while and sometimes not. If I could find a pattern I think I could figure this out; however, I can't find a pattern. It's like my car spazzes out and opens the vents or stops blowing cold air. I need help and the stealership is not helping. I'm thinking about adding an extra can for extra vacuum. Help please.

Durango SLT V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 112,000 miles

My 1998 dodge durango sat for about a year after having the transmission replaced. I put it on the road and then the check engine light came on, kept driving it for 2-3 weeks, then the ac stopped blowing cold air, then the ac belt started making all kinds of noises. I know I have to re-route until i can afford to replace it, but don't know how?
