Durango SLT 5.9L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 140,000 miles

The car would make a roaring noise when accelerating. Some friends thought it was the torque converter. Turned out to be the clutch fan. Cost me $350. to repair because we replace the serpentine belt also. This car I drive the least, but have the most trouble maintaining.

Durango SLT 5.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 145,000 miles

While on Cruise control at 70 mph, out of the blue the car started roaring under the hood. I felt no surge with the transmission although it sounded as though it was being revved while in park or extremely high tacking. Although it was right under 2k rpm.

I have had the transmission fluid and filter replaced to no avail. Help.

Durango SLT 4x4 4.7L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 154,000 miles

Noise becomes noticeable around 1300-1500 rpms and the volume increases with the rpms. At 2500 rpms the sound is comparable to the regular engine noise at around 4000+ rpms. Fluid levels ok. No noticeable transmission slippage.
