problem #1

Aug 072015

Durango LTD 5.7L Hemi

  • Automatic transmission
  • 85,000 miles

  1. EGR valve replaced. P0404 started showing up. and has intermittently showed up since that time (6 months or so).

    2. MAP sensor and Air temperature sensor replaced because the Electronic Throttle control light on instrument panel was illuminated. Got a big increase in MPG after these were replaced.

    3. Experienced a misfire, engine shut off, got codes P0300, PO335, PO404.

    4. Dodge dealer replaced

    a. crankshaft position sensor b. camshaft position sensor c. FLASH performed --- all software updates d. Dealer COULD NOT FIND that THE code registered P0404. Found no codes and no code history.

    5. CURRENT PROBLEMS

    a. Engine light STILL comes on --- and code P0404 read bty my OBD device. Dealer says they don't see the code and no code history. b. Cruise control does not work. --- 150 miles after the work above cruise control became intermittent and then after about another 50 miles failed completely. Dealer replaced cruise control switch but that wasn't the problem.

Now dealer says it probably is the PCM --- lordy, lordy, what to do?
