Durango Citadel 5.7L Hemi

Vehicle dropped off for possible exhaust leak or sticking lifter.. Dealer advised they needed about $1300 to replace the passenger side (leaking) exhaust manifold gasket. The dealer advised this was not a covered item and any related repairs would have to be paid for by the vehicle owner.

When searching the internet I located a long history of related exhaust manifold bolt breakage on previous Dodge V8 equipped trucks and SUV's going as far back as 2000..

When I met with the manager in person he did finally advise at least one of the manifold bolts had broken, but claimed to not know about any history of this problem with this vehicle.. I believe there is a problem with the bolts or how the bolts are installed on the V8 exhaust manifolds and a recall is due or at a minimum the repair should be covered by the dealer..
