Durango Limited 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission

I have had "key fob not detected" intermittently the 2 years I have had the car. The problem is getting worse and has take as many as 6 attempts to get the vehicle started. The dealers have reprogrammed the car and most recently replaced the fob. I do not have much confidence this will fix the vehicle.

I was sitting in the parking lot with my son after his soccer practice talking to another parent with the car running when the car started to beep at me with the code "cannot detect key fob". The fob was in my purse, on the floor of the passenger side. I had to turn the car off and on again to have the fob recognized.

I took the car to dealer since it's still on warranty and they run some diagnostics and said everything is fine and that it might be my cell phone interfering with key fob. Funny since one day I forgot my cell and still had the same problem had to start the car by pressing the fob on start bottom and then while driving once in a while it starts beeping and says the key fob has left the vehicle. It's so annoying and always keep wondering if next time I'll be able to start vehicle. Perhaps I should have a different dealer to look at it.

Durango Limit V6

I spent $14 to replace the batteries in both keys and still the Durango does not sense the key and will not unlock the doors when pulling on the handle. It seems that every other time I approach the vehicle the locks do not work and other times I grab the handle and it works.

We picked up this "New Car" December 2nd, 2013 and had to be towed December 3rd, 2013. This car constantly will not start for me. I have been towed numerous times. The only way I can get safely from point A to point B is to use the remote start. There is no error code. I have issue Video taped. I was able to start car via remote start.April 9, 2014 – Wednesday – error code read key fob not detected, I was still in the car with the key fob in car still could not move until I turned the car off and restarted. – Video Taped the issue.
