Durango SXT 2 WD 3.6L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 139,000 miles

Not sure why a wheel bearing would go bad on a 2014 model so soon. I confirmed my suspicion with many telling me the same thing. The noise was extremely annoying. Has anyone else experience this issue?

Durango SXT 3.6L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 38,072 miles

Had to replace front wheel bearings and all four tires due to excessive wear at only 38,000 miles. Tires were rotated and alignments performed on a regular basis. Never thought I would have to replace the wheel bearings so soon. Thank goodness we caught the wheel bearing problem before anything seriously happened. Hopefully, FCA issues a recall sooner than later. Unfortunately, we were 2,000 miles outside of the 3 year/36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty. However, one would think that the wheel bearings would be considered part of the drive train and covered under that warranty. Total cost of replacing both front wheel bearings and all four tires was over $1,400! Hopefully, the current TSB on the front wheel bearings gets elevated to a full blown recall!

the car is making an annoying "whining noise/hum" when drive

Surprised to see bearings going at only 12,000 miles. Hopefully, the replacements last longer.

Update from May 3, 2016: The car is making an annoying "whining/hum" when driven, especially at higher speeds (45 mph +) and when decelerating. Dealer replaced the front wheel bearings and problem was fixed. Surprised to see the wheel bearings go at 12,000 miles.
