Grand Caravan 3.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 47,224 miles

Driver's side door lock has stopped responding to the fob and to the interior door lock switch. Sometimes the plunger wiggles a bit when the fob or control are hit, but usually it does nothing. So I have to take the key out of the fob to get in the vehicle, but the driver's door lock has started to stick when using the key as well.

Drive side door won`t unlock through remote. Need to open it manually with key. ALL other doors are fine. Since it is on driver side it is fairly annoying considering Canadian winter. Every time have to unplug key from remote, open the door and plug it back.

First I knew of this problem is when I had to use the key instead of the fob to open the driver's door. From that time on there has been a problem with the driver's side sliding door. It has become very difficult to open. If I use the unlock feature on the driver's door it helps for a while, then gets difficult again. Now the passenger door will not unlock with the fob nor the unlock feature on the driver's door. Since I am short it is difficult to reach the door latch on the passenger side while sitting in the driver's seat. Sometimes the passenger door will lock with the fob and other times it will not. I like my van but will definitely go with foreign rather than American again.

Grand Caravan SXT 3.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 50,000 miles

Both the passenger front door and the driver's side back sliding door no longer work. Took it to the dealership and was told not covered by warranty and that it would cost $1100+ to fix. We had problems with door latches on and off from the time we purchased the vehicle new in '09. They finally crapped out and will cost us a bundle to fix.

Door locks just started locking and unlocking at random, park the van and lock the doors they just unlock themselves, we stood and watched it happen, after that the doors would lock and unlock while driving down the road, we are taking it in after we have the other half a dozen electrical issues looked at.
