Grand Caravan SXT 3.8L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 68,230 miles

Fought this grinding brake noise from the left front for almost a year. I changed rotors and pads - twice! Worked fine for a week, then would grind like it was chewing up the rotor. Brakes worked fine normally, but grinding noise usually only occurred when coming to a SLOW stop. Got lots of looks from pedestrians!! Never was any damage to rotor or pads. Finally had my mechanic change out the left caliper. Problem solved - finally!!

Grand Caravan SE 3.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 49,710 miles

Had this problem from 3rd year onward. In last two year I think I have change brake pads and rotors every year or say every 10,000km. Asking mechanics, they says this is common problem with Dodge Caravan 2009.

Grand Caravan SXT 4.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 8,700 miles

My 2009 Caravan brakes are making noise at 8700 miles. Haven't gone to dealer yet. I'm disappointed to read about peoples experiences with 2008 & 2009 Minivans. I need to replace my other car and was thinking of going to Honda or Toyota. Never had a Japanese car ever. But I noticed MANY similar brake complaints for them too. Makes me wonder a bit. Maybe the 70's and 80's cars weren't so bad after all.
