A few weeks ago I had a problem with my ignition, and started to look information abount it. I found a recall for my vehicle (R3 / NHTSA 14V-373) where the remedy is: The win module and fobiks must be replaced. I called to palmer Dodge (770) 410-1111 (address: 11460 alpharetta hwy, roswell, ga 30076 - worker: Luis) and made a appointment to fev-19 (today), and they told me that it will be replaced, but today they told me that they just will update the win module and it will be fine. The report say: The win module and fobiks must be replaced, so I don't fell good because they didn't fix the problem. I tried to contact recalls.mopar.com by chat, and they could not help me. I ask the palmer worker and he just say that update is enough, but the report says must be replaced.

Grand Caravan

Mileage: 100,000 the engine will cut out while driving. Dash lights will flash, warning chime will beep, and the vehicle will rev and lurch forward before dying. This leaves the car at a coast. When the vehicle is brought to a stop, it restarts without a problem. Has happened in cold and warm weather alike.. has happened while coasting, braking, and accelerating. Most stalls have been while driving straight in the city. No highways stalls to date. Cause: Unkown; we have not been able to reproduce the event reliably, though it now occurs with some frequency (e.g. driving more than 20 min). I suspect the power control module (PCM) or the ignition switch somehow moving between on and accessory modes. Available data: Issues similar to this one can be found on forums, it does not seem that many have been able to resolve the problem, despite replace the computer and alternator.

Grand Caravan

  • 133,000 miles
The van started randomly shutting down/turning off/stalling (however you want to term it) while in drive and in motion. Happens at any speed, any road conditions, all gas levels, and any temperature. Last occurrence was 4 times in less than 10 mins. 3 separate mechanics have no idea what's wrong and since it can't be produced at will, they are unable to diagnose. It's only a matter of time before something happens and results in an accident. This has been ongoing since September 2018.

Grand Caravan 6-cyl

  • 90,000 miles
My vehicle has stopped running while driving 3 days in a row which has caused close collisions. I have lost my trust in my "family safe van". I loose control of my power steering and have to pull over to the side of the road and put my vehicle in park/neutral and then restart it. I've read numerous online posts about this problem and I believe some of these models have already been recalled because of the ignition switch failing. I'm unhappy that the manufacturer hasn't done what they are supposed to do and contacted the consumer and reported this issue to them properly. This will cause accidents and isn't safe. I've read multiple posts online where the dealership/Dodge has informed multiple people that nothing is wrong with their vehicle because they can't replicate it. What ever happened that the customer is always right? please help me make sure Dodge takes care of this safety recall before it causes injury/death to multiple family's that this issue could happen to them when they least expect it because it is supposed to be a family safe vehicle. Sincerely, [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

While driving my 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan van in the city limits, when I hit the brake to slow down or to anticipate to stop, the engine shuts off while the car is still in motion. The radio, lights and air conditioner do not shut down *(they stay on). When this happens, I take out the key, reinstall it back to the ignition switch and crank it to turn the engine on and it does turn on. This is happening everyday, at least twice per day.

My Dodge Grand Caravan, 2010, has started cutting off on me while driving. My stabilizer light comes on, rpms drop to 0, and I lose my power steering along with low break reaction. I feel this is very unsafe. I have changed several sensors to no avail. I started doing research and found that they have safety recall L25. Called my local Dodge dealership to set up the repair, only to find out my van was not included in the recall, even though it is in the alotted years (2008-2010). What am I supposed to do. This could easily cause a wreck

Grand Caravan

  • 110,000 miles
Beginning September 2017 to December 2017 (present): Multiple issues related to electrical: (1) engine stalled while driving at 30 mph (city street, driving straight), and lost power steering and brakes; (2) electrical system warning light has been coming on from September 2017 to December 2017 (present). Light often comes on when power window buttons are pressed; battery has been checked; alternator has been replaced twice (!) in December 2017 and warning light still comes on; (3) windows roll themselves down when vehicle is not running; this happened multiple times in winter and cold weather, there is no chance the window was left down by the driver; (4) head and tail lights blink when vehicle is not running; (5) rear seat power outlet not working; (6) rear defroster not working; (7) side mirror defrosters not working. Research into others with similar problems suggest defective tipm.

Car stalls out of nowhere and I lose power steering and brakes. The traction control light comes on after it's stalled. I have nearly gotten into an accident twice but it has stalled more than that. It was in motion from speeds of 25-40 mph on city streets. Twice on a turn and 6 times going straight.

Grand Caravan

  • 60,000 miles
The vehicle has shut down while driving about 15 times over the last 2 years. While driving, usually at slower speeds but once on the freeway and a few times at about 45 mph, the ABS light comes on and then everything shuts off -- engine, power steering, brakes -- everything. It is a miracle it hasn't killed us yet. We have taken it to the dealer several times and they can not replicate it or find any code that is the problem. It is not the ignition recall as we have had that fixed. During my research I have found that this is a problem with this vehicle.

We have a 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT with 133,000 miles and since the day we got it back in July all it has done while driving is shut down/shut itself off. Lights on dashboard will come on, flash and van will just shut down. Key refuses to come out at times, have no hazard lights when this happens, and it can take anywhere from 5-30 minutes for the van to even start again. This happens on the interstate and in the city, doesnt matter really where we are, even at stop lights/stop signs
