Tried to start the car one day and all it did was try to turn. Eventually through blogs I had read about the starting issue and to keep trying to turn it and maybe it would go, it died. We replaced the battery and it ran well for 4 weeks and again did the same thing tonight. All windows, locks, air conditioning, and head lights were working but not enough power to turn over, yes I turned all of it off immediately when I realized what happened. Big difference was that last time I could jump it, this time I could not. I had to leave my car in the parking lot at 8:30pm and get a ride for my children and I from family.

Parking sensor in transmission that sends a signal that car is in park not working I properly may be a huge issue because when you are in drive and sitting it gets stuck in park. Then takes off no warning. If me O our anyone in my family is injured I will be the one to help settle a law suit with Chrysler. I spoke of this problem to the dealer while it was under warranty the rep. Said I had to leave my car there till the problem duplicates. This is a expensive car and my only transportation which is why I had the warranty. The other issue is when sitting at the light the brakes slip causing the vehicle to lunge forward. This is even after replacing the brakes at the dealership the vehicle is a money pit. The consumer takes the bill or could lose their life messing with Chrysler.

I have been having problems with my 2009 Dodge Journey. I also have problems trying to turn it on sometimes. I believe it might be the key or ignition. I bought a new battery thinking my old one was dead and it also started great for a few weeks and then it started doing it again. Sometimes I turn the key around and it turns on fine and sometimes it does not. It is frustrating because sometimes it does it when I am away from home. I am also having problems with my front brakes or suspension because when I press on the brakes my steering wheel starts to shake. I had my brake pads and rotors checked and they are good. I just do not know what else to do because every trip to the mechanic costs money. There should be a recall on this vehicle!

The door control panel has failed, causing the driver to not have the ability to roll down the window, or lock and unlock the door. The airbag warning light has also come on, presumably indicating a defect in the door panel airbag sensor. I spoke with Dodge regarding a safety recall for the same model year, but excluding my VIN. They indicated that they would not cover the costs of the replacement of the faulty parts, but to "save my receipts" in case they decide to replace the parts in the future. Now my family's daily driver has a faulty airbag, in addition to brakes that have to be replaced every 12-18K miles, and no help from Dodge... thanks for the bailout americans...

Bought the vehicle used from a Toyota dealer, the brakes were pulsating from warped rotors, had a brake job done and now the brakes are squealing, /and now the second thing the vehicle hesitates to start, you have to keep turning the key on and off to get it to start, when you try to start it just clicks one time, if were a bad connection on the batt. It would click as long as you held the key to the start position.not happy with this vehicle at all but I'm stuck with the payments so I have to live with it...

Put the key fob in the ignition, the car would not read the fob... tried both keys a few times and finally it started. Everything else on the remote (lock, unlock, automatic start, panic) works... can use the automatic starter... as soon as the key is inserted, the car turns off... sometimes the display reads bad key and sometimes it doesn't react at all. After trying 10-30 times, it reads the key and the car starts. We took to the dealer and are being told that the entire wireless ignition module and keys need to be replaced, which S going to cost us over $600. I have done some research and am seeing that this is a common issue with our make and model, but am unable to find a recall directly related to our issue. In my opinion, this is not something that should just "break" out of nowhere on a car that is less than 5 years old.

The car was scanned several times. It has electrical defects and shows up 17 codes, must of them active. Brakes lights and control panel don't works. When we open only the second row door, lights don't work, but if you open any front door then we have lights. Also, we have problems with the entertainment center. It was changed by the dealer a couple of times but still showing the same problem. All the dashboard lights was changed by the dealer but until now we still having the same problem, for example, gas meter goes on and off, mph meter and tachometer goes down and up while the car is moving on the road. A couple of times we were unable to turn on the car after a lot of tries. Car dealer changed battery of the car by June/2012. When this happen while driving the car I feel so insecure cause I have a 4 year old child and I afraid something bad happen to my child and me. Its so weird seen all the dashboard lights going on and off while driving, its like the car turned crazy.

I purchased this car in August 2010 (it is a 2009) and since then, I have had the vehicle in the shop 33 times. I have had to replace all brakes and rotors, had front passenger-side window motor replaced, driver-side is going out now, had leaking from the ceiling, replacing the cracked radiator right now, had the emergency brake fixed, needed new rods and bushings, fuel injectors run loud, there is a drone noise from the right side of the vehicle when going 1800-2000 RPM, electrical systems short out, had the electric throttle indicator light come on, car dies all the time, yet the battery is fine, ...bottom line, this is a lemon. I have the R/T model which the dealership likes to claim "is just the noisy one." That is a very poor answer towards a consumer. I take very good care of my vehicles and to put up with this is upsetting. I have spent over $3000 in repairs in the 2 1/2 years that I have owned this SUV. Chrysler has made no attempts to help with these common problems and I know that I will not support this company buy purchasing with them again. When I bought a Journey...I didn't realize being able to drive it without problems, would be such a "Journey."

I went out to start the car to go to work and the engine would not turn over when I attempted to start it. I tried for several minutes to start the car and it would not start, there would just be a clicking sound. I even tried to jump start it and that didn't work. So after reading posts online from other owners I had my wife buy a battery and then after some trying it did. Start. I have since this first incident experienced this issue making it a total of three times within three weeks. I would go out to start the car and it would just click without starting. I also found this on another site from someone who had the same issue but instead of me the consumer spending my own money to see if this is the problem, Dodge should be doing a recall on this vehicle. (we had an issue with our Journey not starting. All of the dash lights would come on but it wouldn't turn over. The dealership started by re-programming the key fob and then replaced the starter. Both had no affect on the problem and the car continued to not turn over at the most inconvenient time. The day before leaving on vacation, it happened again. The dealership provided us with a rental and they kept the car to try and figure out the problem. I had provided them with a list of complaints listed here which helped them to narrow down the issue. It turns out that it was the sensor that tells the car that it's in park that wasn't working. Although the car is in park, the sensor wasn't sending the right message and was preventing it from starting. It took a month before we got the car back but we've been running it now for nearly two months and not one instance has occurred. If you are experiencing this issue, have the dealership replace this sensor. It worked for me).
