My Journey keeps stalling on me especially when stopped (red lights, stop signs, in traffic etc.) at one point it even stalled out on me while driving and I couldn't move the steering wheel, brakes, nothing! it completely locked up. I was lucky that that time I was in my neighborhood otherwise I would have gotten in a car accident. At first the fuel cap light kept coming on, Dodge dealer told us to just have the cap replaced (we did) but the light keeps coming on and off still and not resolving any problems. Then a red lightening bolt came on a couple times and that's when my car would shut off at a stop and try restarting on its own. Now at the moment no lights are on and it's still stalling. And every time is stalls it's always in drive and will completely turn off. It has stalled in parked a few times also but majority of the time is when stopped in drive. This is very very dangerous. I have 3 kids who are always with me. I can't imagine if something happened because of this. I've done my research and noticed there are many many people having the same exact issue. Dodge needs to recall the vehicle quickly before they run into a lawsuit.

The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that the service engine, fuel cap, and electronic throttle control warning indicators kept flashing. Also, there was a drastic reduction in speed and the vehicle hesitated to accelerate while on an incline or hill to the point of stalling. The contact also noticed a strong odor of fuel inside and outside of the vehicle. The dealer (ramey Chrysler Jeep, Dodge, Ram, 498 courthouse rd, princeton, wv 24739, 1-888-794-4317) was notified. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The dealer and the manufacturer indicated that the vehicle was excluded from any recalls. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 114,000.

I have owned my Dodge Journey since May 2013, and after two years I began to have problems. The vehicle does not pick up and go. At times when the vehicle is in idling mode (like if I am sitting at a traffic light) it acts as if it wants to stop. On other occasions the vehicle acts as if it wants to stop, even if I am in drive or just sitting in park. I recently had a tune and the battery replaced. I am still having the same problem! however, it's even worse now because the vehicle constantly shakes and wants to stop while I am caught up in traffic, which is very dangerous (especially when I have my children and dogs in the vehicle with me). I want this issue resolved. I bring my vehicle in for regular maintenance as required, and when I mentioned the issue to my service advisor at the Dodge dealership where I originally purchased the vehicle, they told me it's because the vehicle is getting old. The most recent incident of the vehicle shaking and wanting to stop occurred yesterday afternoon while I was driving down hwy I-64. Because of all of these issues I am never buying a Dodge again.

The #6 spark plug has a problem. I have had it replaced twice. The engine light goes on and off when the car runs a little hard. Then will turn off when it runs smooth. When I had the oil changed they said they have seen other Dodge Journeys with the same problem. My vehicle is just being driven in on the city streets. It happens when I am sitting at a light and the car is idling.

It will stall when idling. Two separate occasions I could have been seriously injured. When turning left into an intersection it would not give any gas and the person coming thru the light had to slam on the brakes to keep from broadsiding my vehicle. Second time it happened while driving, I had pulled out of a driveway and it would not give me any gas. I have taken it to a few dealers and they don't know what it is. I finally took it back to the place where I purchased it and they changed the fuel throttle body. That was 8/21/2017. As of 9/21/17 it stalled on me again while in idle. I am so irritated with this and feel stuck. This has been going on a month after I bought it and was told to try different things and it only kept getting worse. I have been told unless the light comes on, there is nothing they can do.....

Bought the 2013 Dodge Journey brand new on March 2013. My Journey only has less than 21,000 miles on it and yet the V6 misfires causing the gas to fill the (all the way to the muffler) back and front (engine) of the vehicle, I found this out when I turn on my car Saturday morning, the car started shaking and I could smell the gas fumes filling up the inside if the car. I drop it off to the repair shop and I was told, I was lucky that it didn't caught on fire.

Without warning one day the car started smoking then caught on fire right while I was driving on the hwy. I quickly jumped out on the hwy almost into traffic trying to get away from the SUV thet within seconds quickly engulfed into flames. I could have been killed. The dealership made no mention about the defects or repairs. I would like to file a complain/lawsuit to seek a full refund along with damages, pain and suffering.
