This car has had numerous problems...from 3 oxygen sensors, to 2 sets of inner and outer tire rod irons, yet the most irritating, the engine seized for no apparent reason last week. Some small issues, such as new crank shaft position sensor, cam shaft sensor, MAP sensor, new oxygen sensors, horrible idle situations, never did the check engine light come on. The only time the check engine light came on was for a misfire on cylinder 1, months ago. There was no indication that the engine had an issue. Fresh oil change with about 300 miles since. This car is now not even worth the brand new tires it sits on. So irritating! This car has been well take care of, and I am the 2nd owner. I purchased this car with 17,000 miles on it. This is quite depressing knowing that I can't afford to fix it nor afford a new car.

I purchased this car back in 2010 used. At the time it only had about 11k miles on it, so I was like great deal. Unfortunately when I got it, I also got a high interest rate to go with it. A few years later I moved to NC and refinanced the loan for another 5 yrs to lower my payments. I really loved the car, and since the mileage was so low, I planned on keeping it for a while.

One day I took my car in for inspection. Drove it up to the place, turned off the car, gave them the keys, they drove it in, passed inspection, they drove it out, turned it off, and gave me the key. Paid and went to get back in my car and it wouldn't start. Couldn't blame the shop as their inspection doesn't involve anything mechanical or engine related.

Luckily a mechanic was right next door, and he put it on the computer and got some funny codes, but they would have to look into it further, but didn't have any available times that day. Next day, I got the dreaded news..Valve seat had collapsed and they would need another 400 to remove the heads to see if the engine could be saved. I'm not rich, so I said I'll wait on it, and had it towed back to my place. They did give me options....$3600 if the cylinder could be saved, or $7800 for a new engine.

Took it to a Dodge dealership, thinking hey it's Dodge, maybe they can tell me without charging me $400 to find out. Needless to say, after being charged almost $600, they tell me the engine is gone and I need a new one. Funny part...New engine with 3yr 100k mile warranty...$8600, Used engine 26k miles, 1 year warranty, $8100. Really???You are doing me such a favor of dropping $500 off the difference.

In closing, 2006 Dodge Magnum RT with 68000, new tires, with a refinanced loan for 5yrs...FML

My 2006 hemi dropped a valve seat around last Aug. Had the engine rebuilt. Put a thousand mi. on it and sent it in for a check engine light problem. Seems I have one of those 4-6-8 engines. Well, what they found was a lot of metal shavings especially in the valves that jut the cyl. off.

I had one shop pull the engine and another rebuild it. Now nobody wants to own up to their mistake. I told my wife that we should get rid of that boat anchor and be done with it. Well it didn't last long enough to even sell it or get someone to take over payments. Now it's in the shop again and just costing money all the time.

Anyone out there interested in taking over payments + $2000.00 I just put $4800.00 Now all I want is to get rid of it. Beautiful Dodge Magnum, silver w/800 inch wheels and polished alum rims Also just had the trans serviced. Car has been well taken care of.

My wife and I purchased the car from a friend of ours in 12/2013. One of the selling points for me was the fact that a new motor (HEMI) 5.7L V8 had been installed in 8/2012, buy San Leandro Dodge and the engine only had 4K on it. We took it on a few short trips and enjoyed the power and comfort of the car. We put a total of about 4753 miles on the engine in 5 months for a grand total of 8039 miles on the new engine. This was our long trip cruiser and we had plans to go to Oregon in July. On 5/31 a Saturday we were going to a concert about 35 miles from home, cruising up the Freeway and getting low on fuel I got off in Los Gatos found the first gas station, pulled in shut it off and gassed it up.

Now the FUN PART I get in the car turn the key and the wonderful NEW HEMI engine turns to SH*T. It starts and sounds like a disel truck knocking and running like sh*t, engine light is on and no power, shut it down, try again same sh*t, shut it down and open the hood check all the fluids a ok, look for any thing unusual a ok, try it one more time, need to get it out of the way of the gas pumps, same sh*t no power. Finally roll it backwards out of the station and into a parking space. Next day have it towed to my mechanic and told him the story and wondered if it could be bad gas, so the first thing he checked was the gas it was fine. Next he pulled the spark plugs found some fluid on 2 set of plugs cyl 1 & 4, inspected the cylinders with a bore scope found #1 piston coming a part and #4 piston damaged, looks like something fell into the cylinder. Sounds like a valve seat to me, this is a design flaw and Dodge needs to fix it. Went to San Leandro Dodge talks to the service manager told me the warranty was not transferable as I was a new owner, that's Bull Sh*t it a repair and it goes with the car. Unfortunately the standard 12 months /12k miles

standard warranty is in effect and the 12 months has past. So he felt no obligation to cover the work he had done, even though only 8039 miles had been put on the engine, So I guess there is no warranty on the quality of work. I have called the Dodge corporate CUSTOMER THEY DON"T CARE LINE they don't see an extended warranty so they don't give a SH*T. I will be filing a compliant with the Bureau of Automotive repair, then maybe small clams court action against San Leandro Dodge. I'm looking for a miracle. WE WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER CRYSLER PRODUCT EVER

Car running great, suddenly starts puttering, engine light comes on, clunks and won't hold idle unless my foot is on gas pedal. No warnings. Mechanic says there is no compression in #4 cylinder and has to tear down engine to see what's going on. This should not happen with low mileage of 89,899 miles. I'm praying it is covered under my extended warranty plan or I'm totally screwed. I can't afford the $1800 to diagnose and then more $$ to fix. I read another complaint that was also someone's #4 cylinder. Seems to me with this amount of engine complaints and low mileage there needs to be a recall or something.

I bought the car from a used car dealer in Saratoga Springs, NY. Right from the get go there were a few problems, but nothing that I thought of as overly important. (ie: interior problems and a small electrical problem with the EQ in the dash) After having the car for maybe a month the engine completely crapped out. I have a remote starter, it said the car was running even though when I walked outside it wasn't on. It wouldn't even start. Tried starting it and there was an extremely loud sound, the sound of metal being shot through the engine itself. Ended up having it towed to a shop where I was told the #4 cylinder had exploded and metal chunks had been shot through parts of the engine. The warranty I had was only going to cover 1500.00 of it, WHICH IS F*CKING RIDICULOUS.

This has been the absolute worse car bying experience ever. I purchased an 06 Dodge Magnum used from Enterprise car sale in April of 2008. The check engine light came on and it was a misfire on one of the cylinders. Changed the spark plug ran fuel injector cleaner car ran fine for about another month. Boom engine light comes on again and now its an airleak somewhere in the engine. Basically told the engine would probably need to be disassembled to find the problem which could cause more problems then I have now. No warranty and still got 4 more years to pay for the very nice looking clunker that sits in my car port. The car idles like its going to cut off and between paying car insurance and note it totals $450 a month and now we looking at atleast $1000 in repairs. Any suggestions people? I know the bank will say tough, Enterprise not going to do anything. almost want to go full speed into a tre and jump out before it hits the tree.

im screwed i owe payments and the engine has went dodge wont do anything they said i am out of warranty after 36000 miles and since i didnt purchase a extended warranty im not covered and i called my ins co and they told me because i had the car for more than 15 months i am not covered they also added that because the car has more than 10,000 miles on it would have made me ineligible to be covered for a mechanical breakdown then i called the finance company and they basically told me the could give a damn......so i called the dealership and they responded to me in the same manner i went ahead and contacted the attorney general and filed a complaint against the dealership who sold me the car and Chrysler corp so now i have to wait 7 to 10 business days and wait for the attorney generals office to contact me and go from their anyone with any suggestion that may have been through this problem please contact me via message
