I had slowed down to look for an address on a dead end street which abutted up to a chain link fence and an embankment just off of I-5 in lakewood, Washington. My 83 year old mother was riding in the passenger seat. My Nitro rapidly accelerating to approximately 70-80 mph. I crashed through a chain link fence and struck a tree. If it wasn't for the tree I would have ended up on I-5 and possibly collided with northbound traffic. The airbags did not deploy. However I believe this was due to primarily striking the right front side of the car. My mother sustained bruising due to the seat back tightening up and generalized soft tissue injury. I sustained neck, back, left shoulder and leg soreness. My car had 51,000 miles on it. Usaa totaled my car. I look on the internet and noticed several other complaints regarding this same issue. In addition to this, I never received a recall regarding this issue.

My child and I were in an accident that resulted in the complete loss of our vehicle. The bottom of car was leaking and it according to bystanders caught fire. The complaint that I have is the fact that I received the recall notice for my vehicle back in the month of may and called the local dealership for 3 months to schedule the safety recall repair of the underbody transmission tunnel shield, but every time I called I was told the parts were not available for the 3 months I tried to follow up only to learn that the transmission was leaking during the accident. I was and am really disappointed at the continuous recall notices after the fact of my attempts. Please correct this problem with the dealerships immediately. Thank you

The air bag light keeps coming on and going off sporadically with out provocation, upon contacting Dodge they tell me my vehicle isn't part of the recall on air bags for the 2007 Nitro - really - so if this air bag explodes without reason who is going to assist me then? obviously after doing some research most Nitro's had this problem and they should all be included in this recall.

We ended up headed towards the sky and took a hard head nose into the earth. We then came up turned in the other directions rocking and rolling in a dry shallow creek bed in Nevada. We went up again and landed with two flat tires, in gear, going no where. My air bag did not deploy! my hubby had a huge laceration on the inside of his forearm. Found out later in emergency that the Dodge emblem propelled into his arm. The emblem is very concerning. It could have knocked out his eye, entered his heart or even slashed his throat. It should be removed from all Dodge.

Air bags went off when the driveshaft just blew because apparently it was made out of aluminum which is magnetic and causes it to wear quickly and draws other parts to it causing it to rub and rupture; also the A/C always goes out. I had it repaired 3 times all for freon leaks. Nothing gets covered because not all of the vehicles were made with this terrible aluminum. This is a huge safety hazard!!! I was only going 40 mph on a side road when this blew with my girlfriend in the car. The driveshaft blew, side airbags deployed. She injured her neck and back from the jolt. There is no reason corners should be cut to make a cheaper vehicle that is unsafe!
