A few years ago, I noticed that the air on my truck was not as cold as it used to be. Then, when I would have the cold air on for just a little bit, it would go from cold to very hot as if I had the heat on. I live in Georgia, we have to have air in our vehicles. It gets to around 100 degrees in July and August. It got to a point to where I avoided driving my truck during the hot days because I had no air. When I finally saved up the money to take it to have it repaired, I had to have the entire compressor replaced and a few other items. Now it is blowing cold air, BUT when it is on for a while, the tubing freezes up under the hood of the truck and no air blows out from the vents. You can still hear the blower as if it is trying to blow the air out, but nothing comes out. Currently my husband is working on trying to replace some sort of switch that our mechanic suggested we try first. If this is not the solution to this new problem, then our mechanic said he will have to replace a different part that requires the freon to be drained completely out and replaced yet again, which is becoming costly! UGH!!! Summer is coming up in a few shorts months, already had an 82 degree day the other day and was burning up. Truck is TOO new for this kind of trouble and has been taking VERY good care of during its lifetime when scheduled maintenance/oil changes done on time, is kept under a garage when at home, mid-grade gas, driven 99% of the time by myself (female mom, age 42).
