Dashboard is cracking and will not safely support deployment of a passenger airbag.

Dash is cracking in several spots, could interfere with the air bag deployment in the event of an accident. New cracks start and old ones grow in size.

I bought a used 200 Dodge Ram 1500 4X4 and the dash has a hole in it and is caving in to the dash itself I believe if I were in a accident that parts from the dash would injure someone as they are already broken.

Dodge Ram 1500 dashboard cracked to the point airbags would not work properly or at the very least throw plastic shards and parts that could injure or kill occupants. Dealer was contacted at the time first cracks occurred and did nothing.. was told at that time not covered by mfg, even though it could be safety issue. Since then cracks have increased in size to the point large chunks of plastic broken away and would not allow airbags to deploy should they be activated.

My 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 dash has a big hole in it and the rest of the dash is cracking. If it keeps cracking I wont have a dash left. They should be replaced at no cost to us.someone is going to get hurt and it makes me wonder if the airbags will even work and if they do will pieces of the dash brake off and hit someone in the face. Chrysler should replace the dashes before something like that happens.im thing about getting a new truck, but if Chrysler doesn't fix the dashes it wont be a Dodge.

Cracked dash on 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 truck. Cracks started to appear, no accident or abuse. Dash was cleaned periodically with appropriate cleaner, protector. Cracks just started appearing and continue to advance for no apparent reason.

Dodge Ram 1500 dash board is about to fall off in my lap while driving and I am afraid when it does it will cause injury or my death...it has already caused a minor injury to a fiend of mine in the passenger seat. We were driving down the road and the glove compartment fell off on her foot and caused 2 hairlinr fractures. The hinge had cracked and broken like the rest of the dash its just a matter or time before gets killed. My electrical system is malfunctioning lights go on and off at night this issue is going to get people killed.

I have a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck, just a few years after normal use the plastic trim and mainly the dashboard just cracked and pieces have been falling off exposing the wiring and electrical systems to the scorching sun. How many complaints does it take for our government to step up and order a recall. The dashboard and all the plastic trim in this vehicles is of poor quality, just do a research on google and you'll find how many people have the same problem, it's on every Dodge vehicle from 1998 till 2005, it just broke sitting in the driveway I have parts of the dash missing exposing the electrical to the sun. I'll have to purchase a new dashboard and pay $300 for it and $400 to have it installed.

Concerned about the risk of fire or electrical shock. Also concerned about occupant safety if a crash occurred due to the lack of integrity of the dash.

My dash board on my 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 pick up has cracked and fallen in and it is making the glove box hard to open and shut. I really do believe that it should be recalled and replaced and not at my expense.

Dash shatters after time. I have a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 and the plastic dash shattered. It is very dangerous, because the fragments are very sharp. I have done some research and there are literally hundreds of people with the same complaint. The dash should be replaced with one that is not so susceptible to cracking. This defect certainly could have the effect of causing serious injury or death in even a minor accident.

The dash cover on my 2000 has cracked to the point there is virtually no cover left. The interior of the dash is exposed, what dash is left is jagged and sharp, and I shudder to think what might happen in an accident. Now, the instrument bezel has begun cracking, and the clips that attach it are gone - they are part of the now missing dash cover. The electrical wires behind the dash are exposed and the insulation has started to get brittle. The edges of the dash are jagged and pointed. The bezel interferes with driving the truck.
