Nov 162008

Ram 1500 4WD 8-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 70,089 miles
The contact owns a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500. While pulling out of the driveway, the contact noticed that the brakes felt low. He also noticed that the brake hose assembly was leaking brake fluid from the front brakes. The VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign id number 01V038000 (service brakes, hydraulic foundation components: Hoses, lines piping, and fittings); therefore, they would not assist with the repair. The vehicle is currently parked at the contact's residence. The failure and current mileages were 70,089. Updated 04-17-09 updated 04/20/09.

Brake line on rear drivers side of the vehicle rubs against a rod in vehicle, causing a hole, 3/16th of an inch deep, to form in brake line. Dealer tied brake line to vehicle so that line would not rub against rod. Please provide any additional information/attachments.
