just bought the truck in nov used the cup holder once & it fell apart. had a hard time getting it put up so it doesn't look bad. can't use i only had one cup of coffee on it and it broke. now it is no use to me, junk. i live in Iowa and I use it a lot while on highway to work, but now I have to drive with one hand instead of two.

Cup holder fell off after owning this truck for about 6 months. The truck was 5 years old when we bought it. It sucked because it looks like the glue wore off-which was all that was holding it up there by the way-and then your sticky pop spills everywhere. Had a heck of a time trying to at least fold the holder back up so it doesn't look so embarrassing. Looks great with our cracked dashboard too!

broken cup holder on dash broken cup holder on dash

I am a refrigeration tech. by trade. But when my cup holder broke in my 2001 dodge 1500 I checked out the complaints and shopping areas to find out how to repair or replace it. Coming to find out item is not available I went the design area. First I purchased a brase hinge and some brass chain. Adding toggle bolts to keep it all together. I cut out some of the old brackets from the hinges and made my own hinge and holder. I thought it turned out pretty good. You can decide with the pictures.

The cupholder itself is not broken but the cheap plastic piece that holds the cup holder in place is broken. Why is Dodge using such cheap materials?!!!! I'm very disappointed w/Dodge!!!!

I had the cupholder piece replaced as everytime you opened the cupholder that holds 2 drinks any sort of weight would cause it to collapse, it was useless. I did end up spending money replacing it at dealership can't remember price or exact date but I am so happy it is fixed, it was sooo annoying. I do recall it not being cheap to replace.

cup holder broken, that's a bunch of bull... dodge should understand that they bought a bunch of crappy plastic. all of this stuff should have lasted the life of the truck. they need to recall all of this stuff. if nothing else recall the dash. They will need a bigger bailout cause I won't buy another dodge...

The cup holder is not usable, it is broken and has to remain closed. Having all of these problems, the dash completely broken up, the cupholder broken, the suspension making that terrible squeaky noise, the heater not working is destroying the value of the truck. No one would want to buy it if we wanted to sell it, we would not get very much for it if we wanted to trade it, and it is not pleasant driving it. Wo, what are we to do. .

In the flip-down dash component, my passenger-side cup holder broke. It has an adjustable arm that is supposed to hold the cup firmly, but the arm broke and now flops around loosely, making that cup holder completely useless.
