Ram 1500 LX V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 85,000 miles

We took the truck because it had light engine on. Then we left it there and they told us that it was the computer. They call us, the truck was ready for us to come pick it up. Then when we started the truck the light was on again, second computer was installed, then they told us the harness was completely ruined. Then they told us that the harness was discontinued by Dodge.

I call the Dodge headquarters, no hope from them either. Now our truck is sitting there at the Dodge Dealership in San Antonio Texas for the last seven months. My son is paying for a truck that is not even being used. The dealership messed up our truck, now they don't know what to do with. Please help us with this problem, we will truly appreciate. Thank you

Called the dealership about the problem and they had no clue. Looked in Haynes Repair manual and could find nothing that would help. Finally went on line and someone had posted a message about a fuse in a black plastic holder located in the fuse block at the Drivers side of the dash. You have to pull the holder out (it will only come out a little) and then flip open the black plastic cover and then remove and replace the fuse. It is a 10 am fuse and the fuse locator diagram shows it to be I.O.D. which I take refer to Interior, Outside, and Dome. The radio and the OBDII also receive power through this fuse somehow although the diagram shows there is a fuse for the radio located at a different location.

Replacing the fuse fixed the problem with no lights. Couldn't figure why the fuse blew but found that the overhead console light switches had come apart, apparently from heat, and must have shorted or through a loose connection caused too much current flow blowing the fuse. Rebuilt the switches and taped them closed with a strip of aluminum tape and reinstalled the console. Works fine right now.

I have no power to p/mirrors, dome lights, radio, a/c clutch. I got the truck on ebay the dealer said that everything worked when he got it. I had it shipped and am now stuck with it. I'm sure it is something simple like a ground wire or a fuseable link or something that is hard to find. I have checked and rechecked all the fuses. they all check out. If anyone has any advise please let me know.

Ram 1500 Sport 5.9L V8

I've got a problem with the Cab lights, Radio, and the power Mirrors not getting any power to them. Also the Diag. Plug doesn't seem to have any power going to it either. I've checked and Rechecked all the Fuses and made sure that all the plugs are connected but I still don't have any lights coming on when I open the doors and the Radio still isn't working. I've asked a Neighbor to take a look at it and he told me that the Power Control Module just above to Gas pedal might be to problem if everything around the plugs there aren't getting any power BUT Nobody can seem to tell me anything about the PCM. Every place I go to tells me the same thing. "I don't know what that is..." I've even gone to the Dealership that sells and fixes Dodges, and the only thing they tell me is that I'm going to have to pay $84 an hour for them to figure it out by taking the Diag. plug up to a machine and letting it figure out what's wrong. After I told them that the Plug doesn't seem to have any power or else I COULD'VE done that! DUH! I was then told that they didn't know what was going on but the Diag. of the computer would tell me something it may not be anything that they could fix but would tell me what was wrong in the first place. I've not had this Truck for 9 months now. And the Front U-Joints, tires, Water cooler, Oil pan, Radio, Cargo lights, Power Mirrors, and the Drivers heated Mirror has gone WRONG! I've tried to take the Vehicle back to the Dealer that I bought it from but they told me that it was passed the 3 days Lemon Law so they didn't have to do anything for me. The Water Cooler Broke and sprayed the entire engine of the truck the first 6 days that I bought it and now everything seems to be breaking down on it. I don't know what else to do.

But back to the Problem at hand. If anyone can think of anything else to try about the Diag. Plug, Power Mirrors, Cargo(Doors) Lights, and Radio having NO power to them. A friend of mine told me that the Factory Radio that was in it might have been to problem and that I should change it. I did that and that radio doesn't have any power to it either. I thought that it might have been the Security plug keeping something back, so I got underneath the hood and pulled the security plug for 20 seconds then put it back in. and tried to see if that would help, it didn't.

Thanks to anyone that could help me out a head of time.
