Ram 1500 SLT 4.7L V8

I am one of thousands with the same beef. A dash that is cracked and falling apart. I probably would have bought another Ram, but Dodge doesn't seem to care about their customers after they get their money. With the thousands of complaints, I am shocked that they choose to ignore the problem.

PULLED MY HORSE TRAILER TO THE TRAIL-HEAD (DASH INTACT), RODE 3-4 HOURS AND CAME BACK AND FOUND THE DASH ON PASSENGER SIDE WITH VERTICAL CRACK OVER THE AIRBAG COMPARTMENT THAT EXTENTS 3/4 WAY FROM THE WINDSHIELD ACROSS TO DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF WHERE THE PASSENGER SITS. DEFINITELY ANNOYING BUT POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS IF AIRBAG EVER DEPLOYS. IT HAD BEEN PARKED IN THE SHADE AND THE AVERAGE DAILY TEMP WAS 75 DEGREES F. THERE WAS NO BLOWS OR REASON FOR THIS TO HAPPEN.

The tab on the compartment where you put your sunglasses snapped off. This wouldn't be such a pain in the ass, but it located in the head liner. So you can't lock it. I have duct tape on it right now until I can find another or have the dealer replace it.

Both front switch covers for the power windows/locks tabs broke off and now they rattle, it is annoying. They cost about $50.00 each at the dealer but they cannot find them and cannot assure me even if I pay that they can get them. That is so freaking ridiculous that I cannot buy parts for a 9 year old truck, they have only 5 in all the dealers in USA and none of them was willing to transfer them. Dodge really sucks.

I don't believe complaining about will make any difference ,but it is really sad that a vehicle cost the amount that they do now days and quality seems to be a thing of the past just take the money and run. Dodge should feel guilty for leaving consumers with this flaw in the dash systems. I have about 5 cracks across the dash and they have all happened within the last year. Its not the sun I have kept it inside and covered. The plastic seems to just have a short life span. Hum just got it paid for and its falling apart. Could this be part of the big picture.

The cup holder just snapped off with very little pressure. After trying several different glues one was finally found that has held it together temporarily. It is definitely an inconvenience and frustrating when the car was purchased used only days before this happened.

The dash is not the only thing falling apart inside the truck. The first broken part was the Master Window Switch panel on the drives door followed by the Sunglass Holder in the upper console. Since then, the other window/lock panels have broken. Its like Im driving around inside a giant potato chip and Im one sneeze away from totaling my truck.
