Ram 1500 5.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 152,236 miles

As far as I can see on the internet this has been a problem for many years with no permanent fix. This is my first full size pickup and I think I made the wrong decision. The problem has been fixed on the 2013 and up as the front end has been redesigned because of the past problems.

Why is Chrysler not responsible? If this causes me to have an accident I will be sueing.

Just bought truck. Very low miles for year model. Starting to suspect this shaking in steering is reason for low mileage. Only happens on occasion.

Ram 1500 4.6L

At around 60mph, a small bump in the road or even changing lanes will sometimes make the front end shake so violently it is almost impossible to steer. The vibration will not go away until you slow down below 25mph. Not good on a three lane highway.

Ram 1500 SLT 5.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 100 miles

Since day one my 2007 Dodge Ram has had a stability problem when hitting road bumps.

When the OEM front struts leaked all the oil out (in 6 months) it was covered by the dealer on warranty.

Also and on another gripe...they never did at any time ever fix why my original radio. It never worked on the left side (no sound). So for all this time I have never had a radio that worked. A year later another set of struts. After the warranty period expired I just drove the truck with the dangerous road wobble after hitting a bump. I have also had the replace the outer tie rod ends and front stabilizers. So many little things that the factory did wrong that pissed me off.

Another example is the front exhaust pipe kept coming off just before the catalytic converter...especially in cold weather. The pipe was inserted only 1/2" into the front system and there was not enough grip for the exhaust clamp to compress the pipes together. There was not enough play in the exhaust system for me to take up the clearance...even with me using a hydraulic jack to push the system forward. I just finally gave up after 5 times to fix this and had the 2 pipes welded together.

At times I have felt I easily could have gone off the road driving this wobble truck. Clearly not a safe vehicle to drive. Now the steering air bag components are faulty (they never did notify us on a recall until the NHTS got involved) and the NHTS has fined Chrysler. Oh and there are no parts available. By the way Chrysler doesn't respond to emails. I am a buy American guy but would never ever again buy a Chrysler product.

Driving about 60 mph, hit slight bump and truck shakes violently. Reduce speed and it stops. This has happened several times. I have replaced the power steering shock and the power steering gear box. Total cost so far over $1,600 and it still happens. I need a solution.

Ram 1500 SLT 5.7L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 120,900 miles

Experienced the "death wobble" twice in about one mile distance at 65 MPH. Each occurrence was on a state maintained 4 lane highway, but living in Iowa means all roads are rough because of the severe winter weather. Each occurrence stopped wobbling at about 30 MPH and control of vehicle was regained. Not a fun experience for a novice to the event.

Ram 1500 SLT 5.9L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 102,000 miles

2007 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT Quad Cab - Was recently driving down the highway and started to notice a very intense vibration around 55-65 mph on the highway. I've not lined up for anyone to take a look at what the problem is, but after reading many threads online it appears this is a very big problem for my model of truck and is almost impossible to fix due to the poor engineering by Chrysler. Coming up on the first year of owning the truck and when I purchased it the first week it was back in the dealership due to another similar issue.

I'm accepting any comments regarding my current issue. Grew up in the Ford family and should have next purchased a Chrysler. Thanks for your help and looking forward to hearing comments or suggestions anyone has.

Ram 1500 SLT 5.7L Hemi

  • Automatic transmission
  • 111,000 miles

2007 Dodge Ram 4x4 5.7 Hemi. New shocks, upper and lover ball joints along with all arms replaced. Steering intermediate shaft changed. Tie rod ends changed. Traction bar and bushings all done. Tires rebalanced. Alignment redone. At 45 mph I get a death wobble. Work was just done 7 days ago. I can't drive my truck over 45 mph due to this. I had to wait 4 weeks for tie rod ends. The day before the repairs were done I had my track bar mounts break due to the death wobble. Along with a tire rod end that cracked. I had to pay the deductible for work that did absolutely nothing to solve the problem that Dodge knows about.

Step up and FIX this DODGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vehicle shakes violently at 110 KM . Chrysler wont admit a problem exists but they will not sell you original parts either . They will only sell you an upgrade . In my mind this is proof that there is a problem and I feel they should cover the costs . I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER CHRYSLER PRODUCT .

Ram 1500 SLT 5.7L Hemi

  • Automatic transmission
  • 93,000 miles

My truck drives like a dream...until I drive 50 mph or faster (which is most of the time). After reaching this speed, the entire cab shakes violently. Turning the wheels or hitting bumps in the road makes the shaking even worse. The only solution I have found is slowing down to 20-30 mph until the shaking stops. I had my steering suspension replaced, tires rotated, tires balanced, and full diagnostics check on tie rods, ball joints, struts, etc....nothing has fixed the problem.
