The 2009 Ram 1500 seemed to be rather trouble free until I got in the 35K mileage range. One morning, on a day I was off work, I was to make a run to the store. The truck decided it did not want to start until the 4th turn of the fob. A sort of dread spread over me that the monster was going to rear it's ugly head again as it had 20K miles earlier. It finally started and I drove towards the store.

As I was turning off the main street into the parking lot, the engine stalled in the traffic lane, Luckily again I had enough momentum to clear the lane and coast into the parking lot, avoiding getting t-boned by the oncoming traffic. Once again I wondered when my luck was going to run out with this vehicle and I was going to be injured or injure someone else. As I sat in the parking lot, cars were having to go around me as I tried to get the truck started again. It finally started and I continued my business and went home.

The following work day I went out and again the truck would not start until I had turned the key 6 or 7 times. Of course, I went on to work with a lot of reservation about whether I should be driving this truck at all. It was the 12th of October 2015. At the end of my shift, I went out to start it and it didn't start until I had turned the key a couple dozen times. I was afraid I was going to have to call a tow truck. I made it home, shut the engine off and tried to start it again. It would not start and it is now sitting in my driveway like a $37,000 boat anchor.

I call the dealership and explained what happened. They couldn't get me in for service for two weeks and of course, they had no idea about the problems these Chrysler vehicles are having. They are very well trained monkeys. I am not going to take this lying down. This engine stall problem is a VERY serious safety issue. I guess they are willing to get blood on their hands like GM did with their ignition problems. It would be considerably cheaper to fix this issue now, than in a courtroom later.

I will keep everyone up-to-date on my experience as I proceed to try and resolve this.

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH VEHICLE KEY NOT TURNING OVER. DISCONNECTED BATTERY, CONNECTED IT AGAIN, PLAY WITH IT, AND IT STARTED. WENT TO THE STORE, TURNED IT OFF, HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. REPEATED THE ABOVE TO GET IT TO START AGAIN. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER, THEY KEEP IT FOR A WEEK, STATED NOTHING WAS WRONG AND HAVE IT TOWED THE NEXT TIME IT SHUTS DOWN.

ALSO THE HEADLIGHT PROBLEM I HAVE HAD. THERE IS A SHORT IN THE HEADLIGHT AND I'VE SEEN SEVERAL OTHER DODGE RAMS THAT HEADLIGHT GO OUT. IT NEEDS TO BE STUDIED FOR A POSSIBLE RECALL.

Purchased truck in July of this year, as soon as weather cooled off truck would not start. Called local Dodge Dealership, they told me to undo the battery for 30min to "reset' WCM. It worked for two days!! Went out to go to work and truck would not start again. Had it towed to dealership they replaced WCM, worked for about a week then once again truck would not start. Towed back to dealership, they said I needed new key, worked one day!!! Towed back to dealership, they have had truck for a week now, still haven't heard from them.

Every time it wouldn't start on me it would do the same thing, initially it would start, all the warning lights on dash would come on and it would not move out of park, when I would shut it off and try to restart it, wouldn't do anything. This last time when I tried to unlock the truck with fob it wouldn't even unlock the doors.
