Ram 2500 ES 5.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 125,000 miles

This first happened in 2014 when I had to replace tipm with a cost of $1000.00. Now it has happened again. It is really dangerous, but luckily I was going about 25 miles an hour. The window washer started working then wiper, horn honking, the windows wouldn't work, then the motor died. If I had been going faster there would have a serious incident. The first time my windows were up and couldn't roll them down to see out. The second time the windows were down, I was able to pull off road and wait for tow truck... this shouldn't be going on. The garage said that they haven't been able to get the tipm, they have to back order them.

Ram 2500 SLT 5.7L Hemi

  • Automatic transmission
  • 114,650 miles

Living in Germany, a new TIPM supplied by a Chrysler dealer would cost about 2.250 $ but it was not available! They even couldn't tell a date when it would be in stock again. A reconditioned TIPM isn't available at all. I had to search the web for a dealer in the US who eventually could supply one. But it seems that even in the US these parts are hard to find. Finally I found a very helpful dealer in Brighton, CO who got one but he wouldn't ship it to Europe. So I had to find me a way to get hold of it. Today 05/29/2018 the truck is on the road again.

I really want to know the reason why the TIPM became faulty. From one minute to the other it stopped working. The starter motor didn't crank the engine any more.

Ram 2500 Mega Cab 6.7L Ltr

  • Automatic transmission
  • 150,000 miles

This is the third time in I have had to have this replaced in 2 years. I after reading up on this issue with this particular year vehicle and seeing the massive number of vehicles that has this problem I am very concerned that the part is so faulty it should fall under the lemon laws.

I am at a loss on whether to continue purchasing this product line or changing manufacturers all together,

Ram 2500 HD 5.9L Cummins

  • Automatic transmission
  • 113,752 miles

Just learning about the ECM ECU PCM PCU Computer Module or the TIPM. Had no warning. Engine kept stalling on me while driving. Luckily no accidents! Manage to get it to a Dodge Dealership. Not very nice to deal with! We haven't solved the problem yet. Very disappointed since this is the first Dodge we have bought. We still have our 2000 Ford F-250 with the 7.3 engine. Never had any issues with that. We just wanted to upgrade to a newer pickup and my husband heard good things about the Dodge trucks w/ 5.9 cummins so gave it a try. Now we r thinking otherwise.

Ram 2500

  • Automatic transmission
  • 70,000 miles

The TIPM is defective causing the air compressor not to engage!

I did not have it fixed because the TIPM was on back order and cost way too much for me to buy at the time even if it was available.

Update from Jul 21, 2016: The air conditioning compressor keeps blowing out because of a bad TIPM. They are an obvious faulty unit and Dodge should be responsible for it's replacement!!!!! Why should I have to pay for this faulty part? I am mad!!!!

Ram 2500 6.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 173,000 miles

Horn would go off and then stop. Just thought it was my alarm on the truck. Then on my way back home from out of state the truck stalls going down the road, I'm so glad that I was not on an interstate. I would have died. The truck was going down hill so I was able to get off road. Call husband and he came, 2 hour wait. He could not get the truck back running so I had to have a wrecker tow it in to shop. The fuel pump is not turning on so no start. We scanned truck found U0100, U0141, C2202, And C2206 Codes.

Call Dodge to ask and oh that is a major problem I will have to tow it in to a dealer. We found the problem with the Integrated Power Module, but can not replace it because not available, national back order. This is crazy. You paid good money for their vehicles and this is now you get left. I will never buy another Dodge again.

Ram 2500 SLT 5.9L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 45,000 miles

Like all the other Dodge owners of this year 2007 the Ram has problems from the TIPM. It's dangerous to drive in the winter with one low beam out, and driving with the high beams on all the time is dangerous for everyone else. Never buy another Ram.
