Got stranded because the door ajar sensor stayed on and the interior lights did not go off so it drained the battery. I believe this should be a recall because there is nothing a person can do to break this part and this is a costly repair.

Not only is this an annoying problem, it's a safety concern. While driving, the door locks will not engage, so the child safety locks in the backseat are not working, and anyone can just open my door and jump into my car at anytime my vehicle is sitting at a stop. Another safety issue is I cannot lock my car doors when I park it, because it senses that a door is open and will immediately unlock the doors. If I set the alarm, it will set for a minute or so, then unlock again after a short period of time due to the sensor.

IF there is a time that the door sensor is working and I am able to set my alarm, for no apparent reason, the sensor will disengage (and this happens frequently in the middle of the night) the alarm will to sound thinking that the door has just been opened.

Another safety issue is the dome lights staying on until the car moves a certain distance, but in the case of backing up at night, it is almost impossible to see behind you with the dome lights on in your face.

I have had to replace my battery now 3 times since I purchased it on 07/04/2012 due to the continuous draw from the lights staying on after the vehicle is shut off (the computer thinking that the door is still open the interior and some exterior lights stay on for an extended period of time).

Door ajar light started out intermittent for the first couple of months, then it was 1-2 times a week, then it was 1-2 times a day then it was every time. Even if the door has not been opened or closed in a couple of days the warning light would come on even if it had been off for the last 24 hours. The doors will not lock automatically, the interior lights stay on, runs down battery.

Driver door ajar. I have had this problem for 4 years now, basically every year I have had the car. The cycle is, the issue starts happening during the summer time, dealership repairs it, then come next summertime the issue comes back. Really annoying. The issue prevents you from locking your doors even while driving. Very dangerous especially when you have kids. The internal lights also do not turn off. Very very very annoying. I am so sick of this problem.

door ajar error

Door ajar warning is on, notifying that drivers door is open. When you get out of the vehicle the interior lights will stay on. Hitting the lock/unlock on either the key fob or on the inside of the door and then closing the door will resolve. Keyless entry will also not lock the doors. Problem will occur by opening any door, even if you open just the rear hatch, the interior lights will stay on and you need to fiddle with the locks to get anything locked again. Local dealer has said that they need to remove all the door locks from the vehicle and run them through a computer to reset all the locks, they want $350 for this service.
