I have a 2013 Ford Edge. Mileage approx 55,000 miles. All scheduled maintenance was up to date. In July 2023, while driving, car started to decelerate. No noises, smells or loss of steering. It was as if my gas pedal just stopped working. My dash had a warning to refer to owners manual. I Thank the Lord there was a break in traffic and I could "coast" to the emergency lane. I shut off the car, restarted it and everything was fine. Took it to my repair shop, they did a fuel injection cleaner and said...see how it goes. Cost: $150. 5 weeks later, August 2023 the same thing happened. Went back to repair shop where they diagnosed I needed a throttle body assembly replacement. Tack on another $450 bill. In both cases the power loss could have resulted in an accident with bodily injuries. My complaint about the Ford throttle body is not the first, a recall should be issued!

Vehicle will not idle at the correct rpms. Replaced battery and alternator had everything checks by a certified mechanic. The battery light will come on while driving and the car will begin to stall out while driving. Cannot run ac or any electric component in the car. Really scary when you have kids in the car driving down the road and it begins to shut down but still going the same rate of speed.

The collision avoidance and cruise control system has become intermittent, undependable and dangerous while driving. There is no way to tell when it is woking or not and to depend on it is asking for disaster. The dealer doesn't seem to have a clue as to what to do about it.

The engine light is on in my car. I took it to a repair shop and they said it had the codes of P2196 and P2198 a H02S heated oxygen sensor is malfuntioning. When the rep pulled up the codes he informed me they had thousands of my same vehicle with the same problem. I contacted Ford warranty and they said it was not covered. This is horrible for Ford to know this is a defect on their vehicle and not be responsible for fixing it. So I would like to launch this formal complaint. I will never buy another Ford vehicle again. The aip has gone out in my vehicle and I have had other issues that the Ford warranty has said did not apply. The vehicle was in motion when the light came on.

While driving in town car lost power and limped along. Yellow/orange wrench light came on. Pulled over turned engine off then restarted, worked fine. Manual said power train loss of power. Three times it's happened and Ford can't find code to determine problem. No confidence in car. If happened on highway at high speeds there probably would have been major accident

On several occasions I have been driving when suddenly my car loses power and enters limp-home mode and a wrench flashes on the dash that says see manual. This seems to be a common issue affecting the electronic throttle body on Ford made around the same year. This has happened to me turning in the middle of an intersection and while trying to accelerate on the highway which could easily lead to an accident.

This has happened on at least 6 occasions int he last week. Most recently I was traveling on a highway at approx. 50mph when the engine entered a default low power state and the check engine light illuminated. I was able to pull onto the shoulder and the car behind me was able to avoid a collision by slamming on their brakes. Additionally, the car consistently presents symptoms of rough idle, rough engine running at normal speeds, and a highly decreased fuel economy. After pulling the odbii codes and some research, this appears to be a known problem with the car's throttle body assembly. The odbii code is P2111.

My wife was driving yesterday and without any warning, the vehicle lost power and she was almost in a accident!!! it was like the vehicle died. It only has about 44,000 miles on it and I just bought it with 41,000 on it. My wife was very scared and so was I, as I was at work and it took me an hour to get to her. I drove it today and it did the same thing to me, loss power as I was driving. Apparently, many people have complained of this. I need this fixed as this is a common problem with this vehicle and you guys are aware of it. Something with the throttle body and linkage! I need and want this fixed. My wife and I should not have to worry about something like this while she is on the road. I am very angry and disappointed in Ford!!!!

My wife's 2013 Ford Edge looses power while driving. The accelerator stops working and the car stops functioning. This has happened many times. We have called whites Ford in urbana Ohio to check on recall. There are no recalls for this and the vehicle is very unsafe to drive. The Edge has 67K miles on it. Has never been involved in any accident. Ford should address these issues. We only drive the vehicle when necessary due to us not knowing when it will just loose power.

The contact's daughter owns a 2013 Ford Edge. While driving 35 mph, the vehicle stalled and the service warning indicator illuminated. The contact was able to restart the vehicle after approximately 3 attempts. The vehicle resumed normal operation, but was towed by the insurance company to an independent mechanic. The mechanic diagnosed that the auto throttle body failed and needed to replaced. The independent mechanic cleaned the auto throttle body, but the failure recurred. Ford of clermont (1101 East, w hwy 50, clermont, fl 34711, (352) 394-6161) stated that the VIN was not included in a recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and did not assist. The contact was advised to call NHTSA to file a complaint. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 59,000.

We have had our Ford Edge for about 3 years and no problems until a few weeks ago when wrench light came on and lost power to the accelerator. Managed to get the car over to the shoulder turned the ignition off and back on and everything seemed fine. It was then good for a couple of weeks and again did it 5 times the other day when I was driving on highway 91E one of the most busy here in California.this condition can put you in a very unsafe situation.

My daughter left for work at 6 in the morning, it was minus 25/30 with the wind chill. She went to make a left turn on to a main state truck route and the car started to shake and shutter and lost all power. The engine light came on too. After the car quit completely it then was restarted. It continued to act up. A friend checked it and his computer was showing codes for the throttle body and sensors. It is now at the dealership. I called Ford and was told there is no recall or extended warranty for the issue. I was told they would note my complaint and if it is ever recalled or ok'd for and extended warranty then they would let us know and she could be reimbursed. We live off 2 state truck routes that are heavily traveled, but as she is a young female at dark with a vehicle that is dark and the road is icy and its cold enough that schools and places have shut down and people have died from exposure in this, I will not lose a child because Ford is to lazy to pull their head outta their keister and start thinking old school again and consider their customers. Fix the issue! don't sweep it under the rug because its easier than facing your "new style" vehicles have issues. I have no use for Ford. My Expedition, my aunts Expedition and her daughters escape all did this exact same thing. At this moment we are waiting to hear from the dealership as to what is going on. If this site allows me to update I will. She was going approximatly 30 mph and as she pressed on the gas peddle it slowly died.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Edge. The contact stated that the vehicle did not move when the accelerator pedal was depressed. There was no warning indicator illuminated. While the contact's vehicle was parked in a garage, it rolled away and crashed into a parked vehicle. The contact came to a stop on a barbwired fence. There was no warning indicator illuminated. A police report was filed. The air bags did not deploy. There were no injuries. The vehicle was damaged, but was drivable. The vehicle was taken to johnson-sewell Ford-Lincoln (830-693-5577, located at 3301 us-281, marble falls, tx 78654) where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall. The contact was offered a discount towards the repair cost. The vehicle was not repaired. 2013 Ford Edge VIN# (xxxxxx) 58665 miles my wife drives this car and was completely unnerved when 3 times the car lost power immediately after a stop and then a left turn into traffic. She is a very careful driver and there was time for her to glide off to the shoulder where she shut the car off and waited. The potential of getting rear-ended by oncoming traffic is very real and she is now afraid to drive. *parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).*

While driving my 2013 Ford Edge at 70mph on the highway in traffic I received a wrench notification on my dash and the engine began to stall leaving me with no power to control my speed. As my car quickly reduced speed on a major highway I attempted to get over to the shoulder out of harms way. Once I was off the highway the vehicle began to shake and I powered down the vehicle. When starting the vehicle again I was prompted with the check engine light.

Traveling on secondary road and experienced sudden power loss. "AWD off" message appeared on screen, along with wrench icon. I managed to limp onto the shoulder (thank god I was not on the highway). Car would not rev up or move. I turned the engine off, and restarted it. Everything seemed to be fine at that point, but I am very afraid of this happening during my daily commute on a busy highway.
