halogen projector beams wortless and dangerous

I purchased my 2014 ford edge SE in Aug. 2014 it has halogen Phillips 9012 bulbs and projector beams. I am older and I am seldom out after 9PM other than to run up to the store on a well lit street so I did not notice the problem until the following spring. I had to make a late night ride on back country rode and to be honest my first thought was my eyes are really getting bad, so I got an eye exam and new glasses. It was then that I realized just how bad the headlights were. Went into my dealer talked to the mechanics and it was pretty much blown off to my age and there best suggestion was to replace the bulb with an aftermarket brighter bulb as they showed no replacement. Up to this point I was still thinking it was me. Phillips no longer makes this bulb and does not have an upgrade, checked Sylvania they do not make one either I finally found a company Putco so I purchased a whiter, and 1000k brighter bulb and had the dealer install them. Lights were brighter but still not right, the projection was all off. Took the car in the following week for normal service and specified that they check the alignment on the headlights. Sure enough the alignment was off and they corrected the alignment. Now I get to see just how bad these lights really are projector beams have a narrow focus and do not project very far down the road, to make matters worse the right beam is focused so that it illuminates the right side of the road along the shoulder and the left focus is straight ahead leaving a black spot in the middle where there is no illumination. If you drive up over a hill the lights do not illuminate the road at all until the car is completely over the crest, and the same happens if you make a sharp left turn you are literally in the dark until the car completely makes the turn. There is always that part of myself that says maybe it's me, fortunately I have had friends riding in the car with me and there statements are How The---- do so see with these lights, and that is after I put the new bulbs in, I have a room mate who had to borrow my car when his was in the shop he will not borrow it anymore he says its scary. Took it into the dealer last night talked to the sales manager the mechanics were gone for the day so it is going back in this coming Monday the 28 of December 2015 so that the mechanic can drive it I am going with him and I have a perfect road to test it on, will update the results.
