I own a 2015 sport edge that got serviced from the dealership at the beginning of the year 2023 for a rattling noice, loss of power, and a shut off problem while been operated on the highway. Expenses where paid out of pocket twice for the same reasons but now in July 2023 I received a recall letter 22N12 about this problem and after getting another diagnosis from the dealership I've been advised that a new engine is needed and that ford will not cover any expenses even after the recall 22N12 stating that the problems I'm having with my car are the same diagnosis the dealership gave me months ago but now this recall for some reason is not available even thou is was a manufacturer issue. Thanks but this issue put my family at risk multiple times while operating the vehicle after a recall was created and never fixed by ford.

Cracked Flexplate, that keeps happening. Replaced in Sept 2020, before the bulletin from Ford was sent to owners. So the replacement was the same faulty flexplute as stated in the bulletin. Soon March of 2023, when the flexplate cracked again, of course I was denied any assist, because I was out of the warranty by 3 weeks! As well, as out of mileage for a 50% assist.

Engine check has been on for the last month. Prior to that the light was on with an error code P1450 stating I need to replace the Evan vap canister, which was done yet the light after only a day came back on. Now the engine check light is stating P0456 and anytime I go to fill up the car turns off and needs to be jump started.

At random times, while driving at freeway speeds, the engine will suddenly start to decelerate and the RPM's will rev high. There is seemingly known "trigger" for this as it happens intermittently and has happened while driving a flat surface at a steady speed or when at a slight incline or decline. Sometimes it doesn't happen at all, sometimes it happens after a couple of hours into a trip, sometimes is happens after 20 minutes on the road. It's quite terrifying because you are unable to accelerate suddenly. At freeway speeds, this is dangerous and can cause an accident if you are unable to get over, out of the way of other drivers. I have noticed that if you can pull over and safely stop, once the car is turned off and back on, it seems to "reset" and will drive correctly for a while before happening again.

Any given time, speed, weather, even sitting still car looses power and shuts off. Leaving me stranded on highways, parking lots, even in my driveway. Loses communication with fuel pump and fuel/air metering voltage. Obvious parts have been replaced to no avail. Very dangerous when in heavy, high speed traffic.

I started my car and turned on to a busy street. My car then slowed to an almost immediate stop. I received an error message stating hill assist unavailable (I wasn't on a hill at all), then a wrench light appeared along with an engine light and airbag light turned on as well. I was unable to accelerate when pushing the petal. Meanwhile there is traffic behind me forced to move around my vehicle almost causing serious accidents.

My vehicle lost power while driving down the highway at 70mph. We had just left a scenic overview where the car had been shut off. Accelerated up a hill and drove for a few more miles on flat, straight roadway and the dash went black. The cruise control was on but not in use. Lost all power, however steering was responsive and brakes worked.. day temp ~85 degrees. Vehicle miles=48000. Steered to shoulder, put car in park and hit the ignition button. The car restarted. Called my local Ford dealership and was told that cars are so computerized now that they need to be rebooted occasionally and to call back of it continues to happen. Per cargurus site this has been an ongoing problem since 2009. Most consumers citing a defective throttle bottle assembly. What's it going to take to get this on a recall? this is a major defect. I am afraid to drive my vehicle. Zero confidence.

I have owned the vehicle for 9 months. 1st occurrence on 3/31/19, accelerating to merge on highway and vehicle shuddered, lost engine power and went into limp mode. I limped it home and after about 10 minutes I started the vehicle and it drove fine... until 2nd occurrence on 4/4/19... this time was driving about 35-40 mpg approaching an intersection when the vehicle lost all engine power and I coasted to the stop light, put in park, shut off vehicle and restarted... it then drove normally. I have been lucky twice. The 1st occurrence was scary as I was just getting on the highway with cars approaching me from behind very quickly not knowing that I could only go about 20mph. The 2nd occurrence I was very lucky to have gotten a red light just as I was coasting to the intersection. At this point I don't trust my vehicle and am scared to drive it knowing that at any time, I may lose power and not be so lucky. I have had zero problems for 9 months and now 2 of these issues in 5 days... what's next?

When driving my vehicle, the rpms sky rocket but won't change. It's not shifting gears as an automatic is supposed to. Also, the engine has been making a weird noise on and off and when we took it in, they turned it on and pressed the gas and said it was fine. Never had it on record or anything. The fuel pump went out about 23K and now the car is having the same issue at 50K with the fuel pump or the same symptoms as it did before having the car lunge forward or vibrate.

When pulling away from a stop sign into a intersection the vehicle stopped, the check engine light and wrench light both came on. I tried to accelerate through the intersection but nothing happened.. I coasted to a stop. Thank goodness no cars were coming. I shut off the vehicle and restarted it. I drove away and within a few hundred yards the same thing happened. No power, couldn't accelerate.

At 6200 miles on a clear warm day of about 95 degrees, at about 40mph on a flat city road, the car lost all power of acceleration, and I had to pull over and come to a complete stop. The engine light and a wrench light appeared on the dash display, and hill start assist unavailable message appeared. I put car into park and shut off engine, waited about 2 minutes, and restarted engine. The engine idled roughly and the accelerator pedal produced no results when pushed. Shut engine off again and waited about 5 minutes and restarted. Accelerator pedal worked normally, and drove off. Wrench light went out and engine light went out after about 20 miles. No accidents were caused as there was enough time to react and travel was on a local street while going straight.

4/2016-car engine lost power on highway @ highway speeds down to 15 mph. Wrench icon shows on dashboard. Made way to shoulder, shut off car and 2X attempt restart. Drove to dealership. Replaced throttle body assy. 8-25-2016-issue happened for a 2nd time as above @ highway speeds. This car has the replacement throttle body assy. On freeway again and similar dashboard icons. Car had to be towed to dealership. Service says they replaced throttle body assy w/"updated model" per Ford recommendation.

My car is Ford Edge 2015 with only 439 miles on it. I was turning right when attempted to accelerate the car just shut off by itself. I managed to drift into a parking lot to stop the car.. no check engine light was on just a message displayed on the dash "full accessory power active" and the green light on the starter button was flashing. Had to put the car in park and wait 2-3 min until I could successfully restart it. Request research help

Vehicle suddenly and without warning lost all power while driving on roadway creating a near collision. Vehicle wouldn't drive, engine seem to stall and wouldn't accelerate. Service engine soon light and yellow wrench light came on, taken to dealership. Repaired electronic throttle body. Vehicle has 4560 miles on it! Ford employee stand very common and dangerous problem. He stated he is seeing this problem on a regular basis with 2015 and 2016 Ford Edges, and that this is a known problem with other Ford vehicles.

The etb (electronic throttle body) in our car malfunctioned, causing the transmission to disengage while driving on the highway. The engine still ran, but the transmission was non-functional. It was only after coasting to the side of the road and re-starting the vehicle could the transmission engage to get home. This happened twice within four miles. The car was towed to the dealer and the etb replaced. The service rep said this was a common problem with Ford vehicles. I asked it the replacement etb a corrective part to fix this issue, but he stated he 'did not know'. this car has only 9300 miles on the odometer. My concern is that this could be a very serious and dangerous problem in some circumstances, such as being in the middle of a high-speed multi-lane turnpike. You can easily imagine being stalled in such an instance and being hit from behind by following traffic. My online research shows this is a problem dating back on Ford vehicles from 2009 at least, and that the NHTSA is 'studying' the problem, but no recall has been issued. My question is why hasn't this been done since I am convinced most people would consider this issue as an extremely serious health and safety concern, very dangerous to both such vehicle owners, and other traffic.

Defective throttle body 3.5L V6. I was at a traffic light waiting for the light to change. After the light changed I attempted to go through the intersection and halfway through the intersection the vehicle lost power thus leaving me in the middle of the intersection with vehicles moving around me on both sides. The check engine light and a wrench icon appeared on the dash display. The engine was running at idle speed and the car would not go forward. By this time traffic from the other direction was passing me on both sides. I turned the engine off and restarted it, however, when placed in drive the same thing happened. The vehicle was towed to the Ford garage and repaired. The cause was a defective throttle body which was replaced. The check engine light showed a code that indicated the throttle body problem. The vehicle has 6,700 miles on it. Had we been turning left across oncoming traffic an accident would have been caused. The service department indicated that we were lucky that they had the part because of the numerous vehicles serviced with the same problem.

My car is Ford Edge 2015 with only 6000 miles on it. I was entering the ramp on a freeway and when attempted to accelerate the car just shut off by itself. I blocked the whole road because could not move. No check engine light was on just a message displayed on the dash "full accessory power active" and the green light on the starter button was flashing. Had to put the car in park and wait 2-3 min until I could successfully restart it. The next day my car did the same thing on a busy street intersection. I had to wait again a little bit to restart it and drove to the dealership. They took the car to check for one day, no rental was provided. I was told that they get many different Ford vehicles with this issue. Next day I received a phone call that they ran a computer scan and throttle body was defective. Throttle body air intake was replaced. Very scary and dangerous situation that can happen anytime, anywhere without any kind of warning. I believe it needs attention...
