The contact stated that while his wife was driving the vehicle at 55 mph on the highway, she attempted to depress on the brake pedal to slow down in traffic when the brake pedal did not fully depress causing the contacts wife to rear end and hit another driver, which caused the other driver to spin into traffic causing a multiple vehicle collision. The front driver side air bags did not deploy. There was no warning light illuminated. The contacts wife sustained a fractured finger, bruised hips, bruised upper body, and a sore back. There were other people injured in the accident but that information was not available. The contacts wife received medical attention at the scene of the crash but declined going into the hospital. I was driving on the interstate and traffic was heavy with speeds constantly changing. I was keeping what I though was a safe distance but when the car in front of me completely stopped and I hit my brakes, my vehicle slid instead of stopping resulting in me hitting the vehicle in front of me. Would this be associated with the brake recall?

Brakes are too sensitive (grabbing) at low speed, especially after sitting overnight. A very slight touch of the brake pedal will cause the car to immediately stop and anyone in the car will slide forward in their seat if not out of the seat. This is a problem with both myself and my wife driving the car. If I drive the car and stomp on the brakes a few times it seems to get a little better. But it is a safety issue for people inside the car and if a car is following closely due to the abrupt uncontrollable stop.
