problem #2

Nov 012012

Escape 3.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 70,000 miles

The rear hatch was rusting at the bottom. Due to some vandalism I had to have this part repaired. Not even 1 year later the rust has returned.

I also have significant rusting on both rear quarter panels just about to rust through. A 4 yr old car with 83k miles!! Really Ford?

rusting rear hatch and both passenger doors rusting rear hatch and both passenger doors rusting rear hatch and both passenger doors rusting rear hatch and both passenger doors

The rear hatch bottom on the drivers side on the seam. Paint bubbled and is now falling off from the rust under it.

Both passenger rear doors, same spot, also on the seam, rust is showing through. Not covered on warranty unless rust goes all the way through body panel. Bad paint job to have rust after only four years. Body shop does not want to fix it, says will only come back. They would have to replace the rear hatch and both doors to fix problem.
