problem #2

Dec 222010

Escape Limited V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 16,234 miles

Leak is fairly minor at this point. It is a shame that the engine and or the transmission would have to be pulled for this repair, in the old days the rear main seal on most cars could be replaced by removing the oil pan and the rear bearing cap. After that the old seal could be pulled out with a tool with a screw tip, and replaced with a tool that looked like a chinese hand cuff. A couple of hours of work and your done, boy do I miss the old cars.

Escape XLT V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 7,600 miles

I've got a flippin' brand new $28K vehicle with only 8,000 miles on it that has had to have the transmission dropped and the engine pulled. I traded in my never had one single problem Toyota for this???? I am very disapointed and feel that I will have continual problems from now on whenever the dealership is done 'fixing' the vehicle and I get it back.
