problem #2

Jan 052014

Escape SEL 4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 27,000 miles

First problem, car keeps stalling, but now new problem, car won't start even under descent weather conditions. Called roadside services they come out and can't get it to charge. I just want a reliable car. I must let them try to fix it but want a buy back now... It's in the shop more times then my previous owned Honda was.

I've had this for 1 year brand new. Sick and tired of this lemon car Ford Escape. My husband drives a Honda Accord 10yrs old and his is running fine. It has 27, 000 miles on it. This should not be a problem. So far it has Been in the shop 4 times. So frustrated, quitting school seeing as I can't go without a car.

problem #1

Dec 052012

Escape SEL 1,6 I-4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 187 miles

Has been towed to ford dealer four ( 4) times and the non-start problem after not driven for two (2) days still occurring.

Update from Sep 2, 2013: From Early Dec. of 2012 to late Aug of 2013 my local Ford dealer could not find any computer codes to indicate the non-start problem ( only happened after not being driven for 48 hours ). All computer modules were replaced, Ford Escape Engineering in Dearborn was contacted. All with negative results. Finally the electrical Tech. at the dealer decided to check the voltage from the spark plugs back to the electrical source. A connection box on the firewall had a defective pin, which when moved made contact or lost contact. Repair of this pin finally solved the no-start problem.

Now a new problem has popped up.... the clock refuses to advance after being set. It remains at the set time, but sometimes will jump to the correct time, and then once again remains on that time.... Back to the dealer again this coming week...
