Had to have my transmission rebuilt for $3000

UNKNOWN, There are not any warning lights on, my cars rpm jumps when I try to accelerate. As I push the gas it acts as if it does not want to drive and won-€™t. I-€™ve had to pull over with hazards and wait for someone to come assist.

I am really uncertain due to the fact that when I was experiencing problems with this car, ford and other licensed mechanic shops were not able diagnose what was wrong with my car. I was denied service by ford on 2 occasions and by time the car was past a simple fix I was unable to use my extended warranty.

More times than not, the car is stalling when started. It will stall or near stall when driving. No warning lights come on when this is happening. I have noticed that when the car started doing this, that the controls for the dashboard are now not working properly. For example; when you try to reset the trip milage, it will go through all settings on board and you are not able to reset anything. This has been on going since the odometer has hit 58,000 miles. The stalling of the engine is happening more and more frequently. I have had it to several repair shops, and no one can tell me why, even though they have witnessed it stalling.

We received a letter from the dealership regarding a recall due to the transmission shifter cable bushing possibly being damaged or missing. The safety recall still has not been addressed. Today we were parked in the car and it started to roll forward I reached down from the passenger side and pushed the break with my hand to stop the car from rolling onto the road into oncoming traffic. I had my husband and kids in the car. I called the dealership but no one answered. This issue is very concerning as I use the car every day for work.

On a daily basis my 2013 Ford Escape keeps stalling in the middle of the highway with no warning while driving at various speeds. I do not know what component or system is failing. Several mechanics have tried to resolve the issue with no success. The engine just suddenly shuts off and this is a very dangerous situation for me and everyone else on the highway. I was almost hit by a semi truck today due to this issue.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Escape. The contact stated that while her husband was driving 35 MPH, he noticed the vehicle was losing motive power. Her husband pulled over at the nearest gas station and noticed a fuel leak underneath the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed. The dealer was contacted, and the contact was informed that her vehicle had experienced the failure listed in NHTSA Campaign Number: 12V336000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The dealer informed her that the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was contacted and confirmed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The contact was referred to the NHTSA for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.

My shifter cable was broken first in May 2022 because I switched to park and my vehicle kept rolling.I called the ford Dealership after reading about a recall on shift cables For 2013 Ford escapes and was told my vehicle didn-€™t fall under the recall. I had it repaired elsewhere. In July 2022 I had the same issue (attempted to put vehicle in park and it was still in drive) contacted Ford and was told the same thing and had it repaired elsewhere since the price quotes elsewhere was about 300 less that what Ford quoted me but not even a week after having my vehicle repaired I get a letter in the mail confirming that my vehicle does fall under the recall. I have paid almost 1,000 out of pocket to repair this issue because Ford lied to me.

On 7/20/22 11:50pm I was driving on the highway about 45 miles per hour when without warning or indication my hood flew open and slammed against the windshield causing me to lose sight of anything in front of me. Because I was not traveling at such a high rate of speed I did not strike any vehicle in front of me and avoided hitting concrete barriers but several vehicles behind me nearly struck me because the incident took place on a curve and I was in a blind spot. This could have turned out very bad for myself and other, I was TERRIFIED. It was late and dark and have to carefully shift through three lanes on the highway to get myself into a safe spot off the side of the road. This incident has not been confirmed to my knowledge by any dealer, nor has the component been inspected by anyone as of yet. I will say as soon I had the vehicle towed and secured, I attempted t contact my insurance with no luck during the midnight hour. I did a GOGGLE research and found that this incident has happened to several Ford vehicles over the past years as far back as 10 years to current date and I'm confused as to why this was not a safety recall issue. I could have been seriously injured and died.

Hello May 23.2022 My shifter broke off on the highway with my kid in the car I was so scared that we will get hit in the back due to this recall I had to roll the car to side of the left lane off the highway to not cause a accident

I had just come out of the store, started the car, and put the car in drive, however, it started to go in reverse. Although, the gear shift stick is on "D" the dashboard reads "R". I turned the car off thinking it would reset, but it would not reset and now the car won't start back up because the dash is showing that the car is still in reverse and not in "Park". Now, I'm stranded in this store parking lot on a Saturday with no idea of what to do. Please help me!

Car falsely indicates overheating and goes into -€œlimp mode-€ not allowing me to accelerate even while driving. Has occurred on freeway, while parked, in intersections, and has posed a threat to my safety over a hundred times. Been yelled at by other drivers and almost hit countless times because I-€™ve been unable to accelerate whilst trying to pull over safely. -€œHill start assist not available-€ appears and then -€œengine fault service now-€ accompanied by the speedometer going to 0mph (even while driving) as well as the RPM-€™s going to 0. Lastly, -€œhigh engine temperature-€ appears and car starts shaking and lurching and the engine gets extremely loud until I-€™m able to turn it off. Sometimes turns back on right away, sometimes I-€™m stuck in car on side of road/freeway for minutes-hours. Been to 2 Ford dealerships as well as many mechanics and have been told it-€™s fixed several times and it has not been. After replacing transmission, spark plugs, corroded wires, coolant, and more, Ford dealership said they have no idea what is wrong with car. Exploring online I found many other reports of 2013 escapes having the same issues as well as other Ford vehicles. This has affected my safety too many times and I-€™m unable to find a solution anywhere. Check engine light is always on unless cleared. Has been occurring on and off (more frequently as time passes) since I got car 2.5 years ago and have been unable to receive any help or solutions. Occurs at any speed, even while in park. I have videos as well of the car not turning on and actively showing these alerts whilst I-€™m driving. Sometimes the car will even be -€œon-€ but the entire dash is black as if the car was off.

For the time I have owned this Ford Escape (4.5 years) the coolant has been leaking since I drove it off the lot. They could not find any leaks and just topped with coolant until the warranty expired. I have had numerous repairs done to my car and as of 06/18/2022 the coolant leaks is so bad I-€™m having to fill it up with antifreeze twice per day. It-€™s leaking from the driver side but they can never tell me exactly where. I-€™ve contacted Ford directly about this to be told my Vin number does not fall under the engine coolant recall, however it-€™s the same engine size etc. the check engine light has came on for 4.5 years but goes off so I don-€™t get the proper time to retrieve the code. It will sometimes loose power in the middle of roads and highways which is very dangerous. Please can you help me. I have an investigation into my 2013 Ford Escape eco boost 1.6L overheating, Vin number is not synced with the current recall for the coolant leak/overheating/fire troubles.
