Wipers began turning on while in the off position. They go on at random while driving, while parked, while stopped. They have gone off each day 5 days straight and we have had no rain. After running by themselves, if they do stop, I CAN NOT turn them on. I am concerned if it rains that I will not be able to use the wipers and be in an unsafe situation on the road. My son, who will be 16 soon, will be driving this car. I can't even imagine having a new driver deal with this issue. THIS IS UNSAFE!

I warmed my car up for a good 10 minutes with defrost on high. I live in East Texas. No snow, just dew and frost frozen on windows on nights when weather gets below 30. This particular night, it was below freezing, and it was about 7:30 am, in the sunshine when I was defrosting my car. Window thawed, no problem. But I needed to then run the windshield wipers to wipe the wet off the window. Wipers were COMPLETELY frozen to window with a thick layer of ice. When I tried the wiper, the motor just wiggled the wiper, trying and trying. I shut it off immediately. I had a 2011 Escape that I traded in on this 2014. The 2011 did not have this problem. Quite a safety issue. Defrost is obviously not hitting the wipers.
