Everest Titanium+ 3.2L Tdci

  • Automatic transmission
  • 93 miles

Less than one day after picking the car up from the dealer, the engine developed knocking noise after about 150km. Took it to the nearest dealer who said it was a fuel pressure transmitter. This didn't fix the problem and the car has been taken back to the factory for the "Technical Team" to investigate the fault. Personally, from the way the noise developed from when it started to when we got to the nearest dealer, I suspect a more serious problem such as a failed big end bearing or similar issue.

All Ford can tell me is that it will take about 2 weeks to repair which indicates to me that it is a major engine internal failure. So, having paid cash for a brand new Ford Everest Titanium+ which is the top of the range model in Thailand, I have nothing for what is going to be 2 to 3 weeks. All Ford have offered is an extra year warranty and free servicing 4 years from now.

Update from Jul 19, 2016: Ford called me after the "Technical Team" at the Rayong factory investigated the fault to let me know that they are going to replace the vehicle with a brand new car. However, no information from Ford as to the nature of the engine fault but the fact they are providing a new car indicates that it was a major internal engine failure. Estimated time to provide a new car is 4 weeks.
