Expedition Eddie Bauer 5.4 ltr

  • Automatic transmission
  • 121,000 miles

The transmission got hot, burped oil out of the transmission then left me stuck on the highway with family. Had to be towed home, 125 miles and was out of service / use for three or four days.. The cost to repair was more than I owed on the car.!

Expedition Eddie Bauer 4.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 134,000 miles

TRANSMISSIONS SHOULD LAST A LOT LONGER WHEN THE ARE SERVICED, AND WHEN THERE IS A PROBLEM THEY SHOULD BE REPLACED NOT REBUILT. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME IN JUST OVER A YEAR. NOT VERY GOOD BUSINESS!!!

Expedition LX V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 40,000 miles

In the 5 years that I have had this vehicle, I have had to put 3 new transmissions in it it the last three and 1/2 years. It has been a huge inconvenience. Each time has been out in the middle of nowhere, where there is no cell phone service, and each time I had my small children with me and I was by myself. This last time It was 110 degrees outside and we were stuck waiting for the tow truck for and hour and a half. If I hadn't gotten screwed by a crooked auto dealership by the name of Mega Auto in Farmington NM, and they hadn't sold me an extended warranty from a company that was out of business, and got me so upside down in this vehicle that I can't even trade it in on anything else, I would not have it. I will never buy another Ford ever in my life, and will never have anything nice to say about a Ford again.

Expedition Eddie Bauer

  • Automatic transmission
  • 104,000 miles

had 100,000 mile service $1,396 dollars. dealer did not change or inspect transmission fluid (recommended at 90k and 105k). But this was a request for a super check with new hoses belts, whatever it took to put rig in optimal driving condition. 3 months later at 104k, transmission failure needing replacement at 4600 dollars. Transmission fluid was not checked or replaced at the August seventh service. Current repair fluid called overheated and "smells burnt" Sounds like service oversight to me. Was gonna get new Expedition, but might be an Armada for me

What a pile of CRAP! How could a grocery getter with 38,000 miles on it which has never towed a damn thing go bad! My wife is a stay home mom, not a drag strip racer.

This is the third transmission replacement. Ford dealerships do not stand behind quality of their product. My dealership located in Sheffield Village Ohio has the worst service department I have ever seen and are reluctant to solve issues. Had to call Ford direct to get any action.
