Explorer Platinum V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 4,000 miles

The Sirius Radio Randomly looses signal and announces "Acquiring Signal" for an hour or goes off for weeks. I have taken it to two different Ford service dealers and neither has fixed it. I see that this is a recurring problem with Ford and Sirius units. Resets, radio satellites resets, do nothing. My subscription is paid for but not working. I have 3 other Sirius radios and non of them have this problem. It happens in clear skys as well as in the clouds.

sirius radio loses connection

Car has been at the dealer for a week. No codes come up on system. So they won't replace anything. I have let the techs take the car home at night so they can see the radio not work for them. Car is 3 months old.

For dealer said Ford engineers would solve the problem. Have discovered over the internet that this is a common concern on Ford Explorers with no known fix.
