Explorer Sport Trac 4.0L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 99,419 miles

Obviously my case isn't an isolated problem. Ford must be aware of it and chooses not to do the responsible thing, which in my opinion, would be to FIX THE PROBLEM! I guess that the phrase "built ford tough" doesn't taking mean what it used to. It should be " you have a problem with your ford.... tough". Sincerely disappointed!

My 4X4 will not engage ( i get nothing, it's dead)Took it to Ford and he said my motor is burnt up and will cost $500. I used the 4 wheel drive 5 times at most and never ran it hard. How the hell can the motor be burnt up. Haven't got it fixed yet!!!!

Explorer Sport Trac

  • Automatic transmission
  • 30,600 miles

After calling Ford Motors and complaining, only thing the call accomplished was them telling me they would make note of the complaint....you would think with this low mileage it would be of concern to them.....please, anyone with problems, call and make Ford aware of them......the more they get, maybe they'll do something about their vehicles.....I won't buy another Ford!

Explorer Sport Trac

The switch is mounted on the dash and the 4x4 light doesn't come on either. It happened last year and I was able to fix it by cleaning the wiring connection to the 4x4 solenoid at the transmission. This time nothing that I have done has helped.
