The dealer was notified of the issue who advised the contact that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The failure mileage was 139,000.

The contact owns a 2000 Ford F-150. The contact stated that both fuel tank straps were completely rusted. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign id number 11V385000 (fuel system, gasoline: Storage: Tank assembly: Mounting) and the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer. The dealer advised the contact that the recall remedy could not be performed unless the damaged fuel lines were replaced first. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact expressed that the fuel tank replacement should have been included in the recall campaign. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 158,000.
