The contact owns a 2004 Ford F150. The contact was driving approximately 50 mph on normal road conditions. The "air bag" warning light indicator illuminated on the instrument panel. The failure occurred whenever an occupant was positioned in the front passenger seat. The front passenger seat air bag sensor failed to function. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for inspection. The technician stated the passenger seat required replacement. The vehicle has been repaired at this time. The contact had concern of the safety risk involved. The failure mileage was 88,000.
