problem #2

F-150 SX4 5.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 101,000 miles

My door lock would not lock and the dome light remains on. Fortunately, youtube has the solution, and I found several broken wires in the flexible "rubber" between the door and the door jamb. After stripping soldering and reinsulating, the wires and reattaching the fitting back to the door jamb all is well, we will see how long it remains so. It's a pain in the butt to repair, just glad it wasn't dead of winter!

problem #1

F-150 LX 3.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 71,000 miles

The door lock stopped working on the drivers side rear door and it was totally unexpected. I use my rear door a few times each day and not having access was very annoying. The automatic or manual would not work. I think Ford should take a look at this because the only way to repair the lock was to replace it.
